Maple Cottage, Hathersage
Maple Cottage was originally a needleworkers cottage and still has many traditional features. The burner in the lounge is ornamental. The cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Hathersage. The area is popular for walking, cycling and climbing and the cottage has views of Stanage Edge. The village has a train station, regular bus service, shops pubs, restaurants and a stunning open air swimming pool. Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Castleton are all within easy travelling distance. There is a lockable bike storage shed at the rear of the cottage. Hathersage is situated in the Peak District and is surrounded by beautiful countryside for many lovely walks. The village still has an open air swimming pool which is now open most of the year. The famous rock formation called Stanage Edge is 5 minutes by car. The town of Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell Pudding and Monday market is 20 minutes drive away. Castleton, famous for its caverns and Blue John jewellery is easily accessible as is Chatsworth House home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. There is a regular train service to Sheffield and Manchester from Hathersage station. Also a regular bus service runs from Sheffield through Hathersage to Castleton. There is a daily bus to Bakewell.
