Owl's End, Oosland Barns, Bidford-on-Avon
Owl's End Barn - Bidford-on-Avon sleeps 5 guests in 2 bedrooms
Owl's End is a red brick barn that has been converted into a cosy and comfortable, sleeps-5 holiday let that sits alongside The Granary, another Oosland Barns holiday let. The cottage is set in a gravel courtyard at the centre of a working arable farm, just half a mile from the River Avon and the pretty village of Bidford-upon-Avon. The barns and the fields around were purchased by the owner's family in the 1960s. In the 1980s the barns became grain stores, and the courtyard in front of the cottage was covered over with large steel bins for extra grain storage. In 2012, the grain barns were converted, and the grain store was taken down, and the full conversion to Oosland Barns Holiday Lets was completed in 2015. Inside, the cottage is decorated in a neutral, country-cottage style and comfortably accommodates five guests, with a welcoming, fully equipped kitchen-dining area and a separate living room with a log burner downstairs and two bright and spacious bedrooms (one double, one triple) and a family bathroom upstairs. Ground Floor Kitchen: The fully equipped kitchen has a lovely stone floor, with underfloor heating, and looks out to the courtyard from the double sink. It features an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, 4-slice toaster, kettle and microwave, plus all the crockery and glasses you need for a self-catering stay. Dining Area: At the far end of the Kitchen is a large, rectangular table that comfortably seats five guests and looks out to the garden to the front of the property. Between the Dining Area and Living Room is a door out to the garden and patio with a rack for hanging coats. Living Room: The cosy, dual aspect living room features a woodburner in a feature brick fireplace with an armchair tucked in an alcove beside the fire – the perfect spot to curl up with a book and a glass of wine! The living room also has two sofas, a coffee table, and a smart TV. First Floor Bedroom One: This pretty and spacious bedroom, with exposed timbers, overlooks the garden below and the farmland in the distance. The bedroom is furnished with a standard double bed with bedside tables and reading lamps, a wardrobe, chest of drawers with a mirror and has a Velux window (with a blind). Note: the main window is kept locked to prevent a risk to young children – the key to open the window is in a security case on the timber beam.) Family Bathroom: The light and bright bathroom, which sits next to Bedroom 1, features a full-size bath with an over-bath shower, a toilet, wash basin and a heated towel rail. Bedroom Two: This spacious and bright room sleeps three guests in one standard double and one single bed, both with bedside tables and reading lamps. The bedroom has a small built-in wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The head of the double bed is offset from the single, providing a little privacy. Outside At the front of the cottage is a small, fenced garden, with a lawn, patio, and seating, which looks out across the farmyard and surrounding farmland. The garden is dog-friendly/dog-proof (unless your dog can jump above waist height). Guests with dogs are welcome to walk them around the surrounding farmlands (please stick to the outside if the field is planted). A charcoal BBQ is provided (please bring your own supply of fuel).
