Charming one bedroom coach house, Matfield

A recently renovated characterful one bedroom split level annex set on the edge of the pretty Kentish village of Matfield. Set next to the owners house, its a 5 to 10 minute stroll to 2 village pubs and award winning local butchers. Close proximity to The High Weald Landscape Trail and its many miles of footpaths through the Kent countryside. The historic Royal Tunbridge Wells is 5 miles away, the coast 45mins and an abundance of National Trust gardens and properties within a 45mins drive. The coach house is set over 2 floors, with the bathroom and kitchen on the ground floor. The eat in kitchen has an electric oven and hob, under counter integrated fridge with freezer compartment. The stylish bathroom has underfloor heating and a bath with an over bath shower. Steep stairs lead to a large bright oak beamed sitting room with views out over the garden, leading onto a tranquil kingsize double bedroom with views out to the garden and fields beyond. Egyptian cotton bed linen is provided. There is a Smart TV in the sitting room and Wifi throughout the coach house. There is a small outdoor seating area next to the coach house for your use, with limited access to our garden. The coach house is set next to the owners family home with parking in the drive way. We have 3 lovely children who enjoy playing in the garden as well as a young labrador dog. The coach house is a short stroll to 2 village pubs (The Poet and The Star) and the local butchers which also doubles up as a greengrocers. The High Weald Landscape Trail (90 mile route) is within close proximity, enabling you to meander through the kentish countryside and orchards and explore the local villages. Packing your walking boots is a must! We would happily give you recommendations for local pubs and places to visit, and an arrival essentials hamper can be arranged for an additional charge. We will either greet you upon your arrival or leave a key in a secure location for you. We are generally around so happy to answer any questions during your stay. Matfield is a charming village with a beautiful village green. During the summer you can wander through the fields to the green to watch a game of cricket and feed the ducks! Within a short stroll from the coach house there are two lovely pubs in the village, one of which is The Poet which offers informal yet refined dining. Plentiful walks through the beautiful kentish countryside, as well as an abundance of National Trust gardens and homes and award wining vineyards are all within a 45 minute drive (Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst, Chartwell, Bateman’s, Ightham Mote, Bodiam Castle, Hever Castle…) It really is a perfect base to explore the beautiful Kentish countryside! The station at Paddock Wood (2.3miles away) provides a 50 minute direct train service to London Bridge and Charing Cross. The historic Royal Tunbridge Wells with its shops and restaurants is 6 miles away, the coast 45 mins, Vineyards 20mins and an abundance of National Trust properties within 45mins.
