Located in one of the most beautiful counties in the UK you are surrounded by wonderful countryside. You're free to roam amongst our menagerie of super friendly pet hens, ducks, dogs, Percy pig and our stunning Highland calves. In addition we have our extensive collection of historic vehicles from the Iron Curtain Museum. Woodland walks are close by, and yet Alton Town is just a mile away. Dogs are welcome, please on a lead at all times. Wifi and Netflix. Min 2 nights but 1 on request. A newly furnished cottage on two floors. 1 bedroom with shower ensuite and the option of a sofa bed in the living area. A large tv with access to a variety of channels including Netflix. Nespresso machine for those morning coffees. Snuggly bed with extra-soft bedding. Quiet reading area upstairs and outdoor table and chairs. You are very welcome to relax on the grassy garden just outside the cottage - perfect for little ones to run around. The rest of our land is also there for you to enjoy. There is nearly always someone around to show you around during your stay. You are free to roam in our 10 acres. We are very happy to give you recommendations as to where to go and eat and visit. There is a welcome book with information. If you plan on going to places like Jane Austin's House, Bird World or Go Ape in Alice Holt forest you will need to pre book at the moment. You may also need to book for special Thomas Tank Engine trips or other days out on the Watercress Line that runs from Alton Station. Jane Austen's home in Chawton is a good walk or short drive away. South Downs close by and the coast 35 minutes drive . The Watercress Steam railway departs from Alton. Christmas 2021 was special for the illuminated train and also Winchester Christmas Market. Book early for 2022! Birdworld and Alice Holt Forest are a must but don't forget that Alton is an historic market town with a street market each Tuesday and a farmers market once a month on a Saturday. The beautiful and developing town of Farnham is 10 miles away with its castle and individual shops. We can give you a map of walks straight from the house. Cycling on the country roads is an absolute joy but getting busier now we are all able to travel about. You can leave your car here and walk or catch a bus but the road into Alton is busy so most people choose to drive. Alton parking is reasonably priced - free at the super markets. Guests visiting Winchester made use of a parking app to park on peoples drives when it was busy with the markets.
