The White Cliffs Retreat - Coastal Village Lodge

This is a wonderfully characterful 16th Century Kentish Weather-boarded Lodge situated in the heart of a lovely village just a few minutes drive from the port of Dover. With nine ensuite bedrooms and large entertaining space as well as its own penthouse apartment it's one of the areas most sought after places to stay. Only a few minutes walk from the beach at St. Margaret's Bay and just along the coast from the vibrant coastal town of Deal. This is a perfect place for a large family get together. It's a perfect place to stay with friends and family or even a company retreat whilst exploring beautiful White Cliffs Country. Kitchen This is a fully fitted commercial style kitchen with gas oven, six ring gas hob, hot plate pass, microwave, freezer, fridge, filter coffee machine (We supply filter papers, you’ll need to bring your own ground coffee). There is a triple sink & dishwasher. There is plenty of space for food storage and a wine cooler. Lounge In the stone-floored lounge there is a lovely old piano in the snug with plenty of comfy seating, there's also a log fire and exposed beam ceilings. Bar The beautiful hardwood bar is kitted out with beer and wine fridges a cold store and glass washer. The bar was formerly the hub of the village, a place to congregate in a proper pub setting. There's a wood-burning stove to cosy around in winter and in summer open up the doors to the garden out back for perfect summer living. Dining Room With seating for up to 20 people the dining room has a number of old French kitchen tables and rattan chairs. The beamed ceilings and wooden floors give it a light, airy feel with vintage Farrow and Ball colours and contemporary works from the South East Kent art scene on the walls. The Garden Formerly one of the best pub gardens in Kent. This place is a sun trap in summer with lots of places to sit and enjoy the sun or shade under the permanent gazebo decked dining area. There's a tin-roofed pizza shack with wood-fired oven and outside bar too. Bedrooms and Penthouse There are five bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms on the first floor all decorated in a country house style with a hint of coastal England and local artworks on the walls. On the second floor there are a further two ensuite bedrooms and a penthouse apartment with two bedrooms, galley kitchen, lounge and bathroom. The lounge makes a great place for kids if grown-ups are staying up a little later downstairs. It is a lovely old building that houses a large open living space with a dining and bar area, bedrooms & a penthouse apartment. Set in a coastal location under a mile from the beach at St. Margaret's Bay. This is a unique place which has only just been launched on AirBnB in early 2021. Guests have access to the whole place with a lovely lounge area with piano and wood stove, there’s a large bar for serving drinks, dining room that can seat 20 people, fully kitted out commercial style kitchen, large walled garden with seating for everyone, a wood-fired pizza shack and outside bar. There's always someone on hand for any issues from changing a light bulb to tips on how to fire up the pizza oven from 7am until 11pm. We're lucky to be in a stunning position tucked in the heart of a great little Kentish village. Here you can step down to the seaside from one door and stroll the mile to the beach or disappear into the countryside of the Kent Downs area of Outstanding Natural Beauty from the other. It's really easy to get to us using public transport. There's a bus stop 100 metres from us where you can catch the number 15 bus to Dover, Deal, Sandwich and Canterbury. The train station at Martin Mill is around a mile away and connect us to London via the High Speed 1 to St. Pancras in just 74 minutes. This place is a perfect place to hire for a family, company group or group of friends. We are partnered a fantastic social enterprise called PRIMAL ROOTS and we offer retreats to include hiking/running, outdoor workouts, breath work, wild swimming and more.
