Located in the village of Guillemont within the heart of the Somme battlefields, Guillemont Halt is a self catering holiday home accommodating up to 11 guests in spacious & comfortable surroundings. The house has a unique feature from WW1, an infilled German bunker was discovered under the location of the original house, rebuilt after the 1914-18 war. The dugout & stairs were excavated during the house renovations and a glass panel installed in the living room to show part of the dugout. Facilities of the property include: Spacious Living Room, Dining room, Study/Library and Conservatory Fully equipped kitchen with range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven and washing machine. Four bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom. Within walking distance of many important landmarks such as Guillemont Road Cemetery, the 16th Irish Division Celtic Cross outside Guillemont Church, Trones Wood, the Maltz Horn Cross, the 20th Light Division Memorial and the recently inaugurated Jersey Pals Memorial. Longueval and Delville Wood are a couple of minutes drive away. Lochnagar Crater is a 12 minute drive away with Thiepval Memorial, The Ulster Tower and Albert Town Centre 15 minute drive from the house. Car recommended. Guillemont Halt can accommodate up to 11 guests in four bedrooms. Two of the upstairs bedrooms and the downstairs bedroom can offer a kingsize bed with all other beds as singles, alternatively all 11 beds can be made up as singles.
