Henrik's Time Machine - relax in nature

Everybody talks about "the good old days". In this (almost) off-the-grid cabin you can experience it yourself. Try a Norwegian tradition where you un-plug your devices and recharge your body and soul without compromising comfort "Hygge", as we call it. A "hytte" used to mean no electricity or modern plumbing - but I know you need to charge your mobile, take a shower and have a cold drink, so there is a socket, a fridge and a shower with hot water. If the weather premits the outdoor shower is even better. The woodfired ovens will keep you warm if it is cold. Light candles at dusk, listen to the crackling fire and relax. The "hytte" is 42 square meter (450 sg feet) and the outhouse is 6 m2. The century old timbered cabin has been refurbished using only natural and non toxic materials. After a nice meal you can go for an evening walk through the 100 meter forest where you will find 11 viking graves. Thousand years ago the main road from Oslo to the cathedral in Nidaros passed just outside, so is you might feel a special energy from all those who have walked by trough the ages, and maybe pick some wild raspberries along the way. I am normally around gardening or working with some project togheter with my dog, Hermine, so we are happy to chat or answer any questions you might have. This place is located on a farm, Fløgstad, at the end of a private road, so no traffic and very quiet, yet close to the airport and city life if any such cravings should occur during your stay. If you come by car, which is the easiest, the farm is conveniently located between Gardermoen Airport, Oslo, Jessheim and Lillestrøm. It takes approx 15 min from the airport and 25 min from Oslo. The nearest railway station is 2,7 km away (approx a healthy 25 minute walk). The train to Oslo takes 23 minutes and there is a bus from the station to the airport (OSL Gardermoen). The supermarket is 2 km away. I do of course offer laundry. Washing and drying kr 50. More good news; the wood for the fireplace/stove is included. And you are very welcome to dine or just chill on the deck outside with evening sun. Even more good news: The outhouse does NOT smell at all. The WC is a closed biological unit, turning a waste problem into fertilizer keeping the landscape green. The outhouse has a fantastic view too - "a poo with a view."
