P'pierblom
P’pierblom is a uniquely crafted fishermen style cottage that forms part of the bigger beach house that is situated on an undiscovered piece of the West Coast some 150km north of Cape Town and just north of Dwarskersbos. It is a quiet place with a sandy beach stretching 10 km south to where the Bergriver flows into the ocean and 40km north to Baboon Point at Elandsbaai, a provincial heritage site. The unit is on the street side of the beach house with no seaview but it is 150m walk to the beach. P’pierblom is perfect for anyone wanting to experience the tranquility of the West Coast. Here you can walk on the beach, go jogging or cycling at low tide, bask in the sun (with seals from time to time), swim in the Atlantic ocean, read a book, day dream and enjoy the sunsets, a photographer’s dream. Here you will slow down, relax and recharge. In the winter months you might just see whales and the rare Heaviside Dolphin near the coast. In spring the wild flowers paint the surrounding areas in the most beautiful colours and just 10 km to the north at the Rocher Pan Nature Reserve, different bird species and large numbers of water birds can be observed. It can also be reached via a walking trail from Dwarskersbos There is a small shop (Dwarskersbos Mini Market) for essentials just 5 minutes away but at Velddrif and Laaiplek, 11 km south, you will find most necessities with a large Superspar, OK Foods, Pharmacy, Doctors, etc. A 150 meter walk via a boardwalk gives access to the wide stretch of sandy beach. Respect the cottage, respect the neighbours and respect the environment. Furniture, cushions, bedding and blankets are NOT for outdoor use. You will need a car as there is no real public transport around here. Security deposit is R1500 No smoking Not suitable for pets No parties or events No noise No littering around cottage No littering on beach Strict water restrictions apply
