Double Room with kingsize bed in traditional family home. Situated on a quiet road in an elevated position with beautiful, sweeping views over parkland to the hills beyond. There is free parking either on the road or on the driveway at the property. The double room is adjacent to private shower/toilet and guests have access to shared living room. There are wonderful views from the bedroom to the 12th century, stone built, Biggar Kirk. The property is a 5 minute mins walk from the High St shops, Biggar museum, busy restaurants, cafes and pubs. Parking is available directly in front of the property. The village is a 5 min walk away through the Burn Braes Park I live within the home so I will be available to answer any queries you may have and to provide useful information on places to visit, upcoming events locally, nearby walks and recommend places for dining and for entertainment. Biggar is a small but unique Scottish village in so many ways . It is lively and friendly and very welcoming to visitors. It offers a range of attractions. There are numerous festivals that take place throughout the year such as the Biggar Little festival during October, the famous Biggar Bonfire at New Year that attracts worldwide attention and regular "meet the writer" events hosted by our local prize-winning bookshop. The countryside in this part of Scotland is ideal for keen hill walkers with Tinto Hill about 5 miles distant and is the highest point in Central Scotland. The 360 views from the top are spectacular. Other nearby attractions include the beautiful Dawyck Gardens and Little Sparta. Biggar's pubs and restaurants give the visitor a warm Scottish welcome. Local bus stops are 5 min walk away in the High Street. There is an hourly service to Edinburgh and more frequent services to Peebles in the Borders and Lanark (12 miles away) which provides train services to Glasgow city centre. Biggar offers an excellent base for visitors to attend events at the Edinburgh Festival in the summer months. Those with a car can reach the city centre of Edinburgh in around 50 mins.
