Our Danube bend cabin is the perfect place to escape from all that big city hustle and bustle. You can put your feet up in front of the fireplace after a hike, cook a hearty meal in the kitchen or grill in the nearby firepit +++ Deer Mountain is still here for you at this tricky time. (NTAK reg. no.: MA (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , type of accommodation: private) Located in Nagymaros, on the Blackbird Mountain side, with breathtaking views of the Danube and Pilis, the Deer Mountain Retreat is our lovely little cabin. The front porch is the perfect place to watch both the sun and moonrise. The house is located at the top of a (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) m2, South-East-facing plot of land, backing on to wild forest. The house itself was built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) from original plans and we have renovated, rebuilt and modernized over the past year. The fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedroom, rainfall shower, custom design lighting and fireplace are all small details that add to the relaxing atmosphere. You can use the house, of course, and the space right next to the house where the fire pit is. To the other side of the house is an outdoor staircase leading to the upper part of the site, where you will get a more complete view of the Danube Bend and hammocks! There's also an outdoor toilet, if you need it (The normal toilet is in the bathroom.) We're available via phone, text or aibnb messages, but you have the cabin all to yourself. From Budapest, Nagymaros is easily accessible by train (50 minutes) or by car (40 minutes on the M2). It's a great base for shorter and longer excursions, the Blue Hiking Trails: the Julianus lookout tower, the Nagy-Börzsöny can be reached from Kismaros on the local, small train, there is a fishing lake in the neighborhood, and scheduled ferry to Visegrád, where you can easily visit the castle and Pilis. Nagymaros is well equiped with sporting facilities: you can rent a bike, canoe and/or kayak and freely roam the surrounding nature. The nearest train station is a 10-minute walk away and the nearest shop is a 25-minute walk away, so it might be best to get stocked up before your arrival. The secluded, frequented sections of the Danube are a short 8-minute walk from the house. These pristine, sometimes soft and sandy beaches are perfect for a stroll, a waterfront picnic, swimming, running or dog walking. Zebegény, a small jewelry-box village with beautiful beaches, small streets and nature is also easily accessible by bicycle, train or on foot. Marked bike paths wrap all along the Danube Bend. - The path leading to the house, inside our garden, is relatively steep, so we would reccomend appropriate, outdoorsy footwear. Like most houses in Nagymaros, we do hear some train noise from the tracks along the river, and sometimes friendly neighbours, but the area and the surroundings of the house are quiet and intimate. The neighboring buildings cannot be seen from the level of the house but you will see plenty of forest squirrels, birds and lizards. - We don’t have wifi as Deer Mountain is primarily for rest and relaxation. Luckily though the 3G and 4G coverage of the town is enough to use internet on your phone with your mobile data. - We’re only available through airbnb, unfortunately we cannot accept travel vouchers, such as Szép Kártya.
