St Catherine's at The Old Rectory, Chale
A comfortable home from home in a beautiful rural setting. St Catherine's is a self contained, self catering unit situated on the ground and first floors of a Grade 2 listed, Georgian former rectory. This lies in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty close to the South coast of the Isle of Wight. All the rooms are of generous size and are comfortably furnished. The sitting room features a large open fire as well as central heating and logs are provided in cold weather. There are beautiful views from all windows, across St Catherine's down to the front and into the garden to the rear. Guests are welcome to enjoy use of the garden. Blackgang Chine is just a few minutes drive away and the lovely beaches of "the back of the Wight" are about 15 minutes drive away. The family friendly Wight Mouse Inn is close by, but out of earshot, and serves good food in a charming setting. The whole area is ideal for walking, with a very extensive network of well marked and maintained footpaths through beautiful and varied countryside and the coast. Sole use of the whole self contained unit and use of the shared garden. Guests are always welcomed in by the hosts, who live on site and are available if required, but who respect the privacy of guests. This is a peaceful rural area. Although we do have neighbours we are not surrounded by housing. Village shops are less than two miles away, with larger supermarket shopping available in Newport, which is seven miles away. We are ideally suited to either family "bucket and spade" holidays or for walkers or cyclists. There is ample parking in the area at the front of the house. There is a stop for the local bus at the gate. To minimise disturbance to other people I am unwilling to accept arrivals after 11pm
