Luxurious privacy in an Old Rectory
Just a twenty minute drive south west of Norwich, the Old Rectory is the perfect bolthole from which to discover Norfolk or just drop in on neighbouring Lotus Cars. From the well-appointed, private and spacious first floor annex in the West Wing of the house, guests are encouraged to explore our five-acre property comprising woodland, meadow and traditional walled garden. Whether you are single or travelling as a couple, the Old Rectory can offer you respite, privacy and comfort away from home. The accommodation, located on the first floor, is modern, airy and equipped with all the luxuries you'd hope to find in a comfortable home away from home: a spacious living area equipped with a smart tv, a cosy dining area, a small kitchen, a private bedroom and a well-appointed bathroom. You can have your own private access and are free to come and go as you please without intruding on the rest of the household. Guests are welcome to enjoy and explore the green and varied expanse which surrounds the house. From 4 July 2020 we have been adhering to Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. This includes: -sanitizing high-touch surfaces -using cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies -cleaning each room using extensive cleaning checklists -providing extra cleaning supplies so guests can clean during their stay Well-designed, spacious and in quiet surroundings, the accommodation's focal point is the living room and dining area adjacent to the small kitchen. A separate and private bedroom has plenty of storage space as well as being light and airy. The luxurious bathroom is lined in travertine marble with underfloor heating available and a wetroom shower. Clothes washing facilities can be accessed in the main house and, by prior arrangement, guests' clothes can be washed and dried using these facilities free of charge. We encourage guests to create their own breakfast with the complimentary continental breakfast ingredients provided including homemade jams and our own honey. The kitchen is well equipped for guests to be entirely self-catering. We are on hand to offer help and advice regarding our locale as well as share some of our passion for our lovely property. Although located in a quiet village we are easily placed for the A11, the main Norwich to London road. The nearest train station is three miles away in Wymondham, a charming market town with a selection of good pubs and restaurants. There are also some agreeable pubs nearer to our property which we recommend. We're just a mile away from Hethel Engineering Centre, an offshoot of Lotus Cars which are still built 'just up the road'. Getting here is straightforward by car and there is plenty of private parking space on the property. Arriving by train, you will need to get off at Wymondham station and prebook a cab to the Old Rectory. There is a very limited bus service linking our village to either Wymondham or Norwich. The honey we provide our guests is made by our own bees. Our beehive is located a safe distance from the house at the edge of our far meadow. A family of Tawny owls nests in an owl box near the house; if you're very still, you may be lucky enough to spy Mr and Mrs Tawny owl perched side by side in their cosy hideaway.
