In ”La Casa de los Noruegos” in Buenavista de Cuellar you live in your own house in a genuine Mexican village, where the life has changed little during the last 50 years. However, necessary facilities like post-office, bank, health care and easy public transport are available. Buenavista de Cuellar is situated in a dead-end valley and there is no through traffic. The streets are narrow and the traffic slow. Pedestrians, horses, mules and donkeys have the same right of way as cars. The animals are used for transport of goods like food for the animals in the hills, and transport of milk. Traditional meals are available from good kitchens for very reasonable prices. You will have some very good and experienced teachers with if you want to learn or improve your Spanish. The house has a beautiful view over the village and the surrounding hills. It is accessible for wheel-chair users, however, the village has some steep parts. Buenavista is a very peaceful spot on earth, with no stress and with very friendly people. This is a true place to “charge the batteries” through pure relaxation or activities like walking, horse-riding or bicycling in the hills, reading or studying. The property has many facilities for active recreation like heated pool, badminton court, and a study which can be used as a classroom for private Spanish lessons. At only 10-15 minutes walking distance there is a high quality tennis court (no cost, booking by the house-keeper). Minimum one horse is normally accommodated at the property and is available for use. The house has DVD-player with a small TV-screen (no TV channels) and Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is rather slow however, as it is in the whole village. It may be a good idea to download movies on your computer before you arrive. This is a place for those who want a “different” vacation far from the stream of tourists. At the same time the distance is relative short to cities like Taxco (the famous silver town), Iguala, Cuernavaca, Acapulco and Mexico City. The communications by bus and taxis are very good. Depending of the season the garden has a lot of fruit trees which can be harvested. Guests may choose the level of service (cleaning, food-making, laundry service etc.) The pool is private and heated. The pool and the property are constantly maintained in excellent condition by Martín who also works as an English teacher in the village. He is also constantly available for information and assistance for the guests. The whole property is available. The owner will not be present, but a housekeeper will be present almost every day. The neighborhood is quiet and is not allowed to make a lot of noise after 10:00 pm even in the swimming pool. Excellent view of the town
