Beautiful brand new conversion of a Grade II Listed barn. Dating back to 1760 this barn has been in the heart of the quaint Hertfordshire village of Standon for centuries and has recently been lovingly converted to a residential dwelling. If you are looking for a stylish and comfortable bolt hole in the stunning Hertfordshire countryside with access to fantastic pubs and village amenities, look no further! The annexe offers one comfortable double bedroom, a fantastic shower room and spacious kitchen/living room. Under floor heating. There are some original wood beams that reflects the true character of the grade 2 listed barn.The main house adjoins the annexe but guests have a separate entrance and will enjoy complete privacy. Since the photographs were taken I have added blinds to the windows overlooking the courtyard area for privacy. The whole annexe is for our guests’ use. We live next door in the adjoining house. The annexe is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Smart TV and WIFI. There is a bistro table and chairs. Guests can sit next to our Mill Leat (a stream that was used by the original Mill) where in season you will see ducklings,Moor Hens,river trout and crayfish. We live next door and will be on hand to help with anything you may need. We respect our guests’ privacy though and will not interfere with your stay. The barn is surrounded by stunning countryside and is next to the picturesque Standon and Puckeridge High Streets, which boast great pubs and all the amenities you would expect from a Hertfordshire village. Standon is a 10 minute drive to the towns of Ware and Bishops Stortford, both of which have excellent rail connections to London in 30 minutes. It is also close to Stansted Airport, Cambridge and, with the A10 on the doorstep, has great transport links to the rest of Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex. The barn is a 10 minute drive to the nearest train stations, which have excellent connections to London and Cambridge. We are also only 10 miles from Stansted Airport. We can recommend local taxi firms or Uber if you don’t have a car. There is parking on the property.
