The place The rural village of Rumburgh is set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. This self-contained holiday let is half of our 16th century thatched cottage, which has been lovingly restored with traditional building techniques, using wattle and daube and lime plaster. The area The cottage is only 20 minutes from Southwold and Walberswick. RSPB Minsmere is about 30 minutes away as is The National Trust's Dunwich Heath and English Heritage's Framlingham Castle. The self-contained holiday let is half of our timber-frame cottage with cosy and authentic charm, perfect for a romantic getaway. The main bedroom has a high vaulted ceiling with an antique French bed and an en suite sink area. The second bedroom also has an en suite shower and toilet. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with a gas hob, electric fan oven, fridge, and dishwasher. All necessary utensils are provided, as well as hand towels, bedding, and basic toiletries. You will have access to your own lovely garden space with a wooden table and chairs. Private off-road car parking space is available for your vehicle. The guest house is annexed to our cottage with your fenced off own garden. There is one entrance through the oak front door. You will be provided with a key which we will collect at the end of your stay. You have access to the rooms and facilities provided in the annexe and garden You will have the holiday let to yourself however, we are contactable if you require assistance. The Rumburgh Buck is the village freehouse pub, serving food and occasionally hosting live music. The famous "Old Glory" Molly men meet up for their traditional shin-dig at certain times of the year, so check their website for dates. This is a charming rural location with farmland, meadows, woodland and waterways to discover. Canoe and boat hire is available in Beccles to explore the Waveney Valley. Nearby equestrian centres offer treks in the area. This is an idyllic area for cycling with a network of quiet country lanes. A car is essential for general travel. Taxis require booking in advance if coming by rail from Halesworth station which is 4 miles distant. This station offers regular connection to Lowestoft, Norwich, Ipswich and London Liverpool Street. Guests will need to bring their own bath towels.
