Peace and Quiet in a Village Setting
Our attractive and comfortably furnished luxury cottage is set well back from the road and is the wing of a large Victorian house. It has a modern well equipped kitchen a separate utility area with dishwasher and washing machine. A cosy dining area, a comfortable sitting room with freeview TV and wifi two bedrooms, one with King sized bed, the other a double bed. A cosy shower room with an electric towel rail, and the whole cottage has oil fired central heating Whilst not suitable for children it will accommodate an infant, and high chair and cot can be supplied for a small extra charge. The garden whilst small has a bbq, and privacy with a real feeling of peacefulness being surrounded on three sides by the garden of the main house which has plentiful wild life including hedgehogs, ducks and ducklings, pheasants, and occasionally our own muntjac. We live in the main house and are available to answer any questions or sort any problems you may have There is a lot to do and see around North West Norfolk including Hunstanton Golf Club the only championship links course between Muirfield and Royal St George on the south coast and more...…. Ancient towns like King's Lynn, Great Walsingham, seaside villages, the ancient Roman Road that is Peddars Way are just waiting to be explored...….. If you love beaches that stretch for miles and are uncrowded then you have come to the right place. We are less than 20 minutes from the famous North Norfolk Coast..... The RSPB Snettisham Bird reserve is less than 10 minutes drive away. The Nature Reserves in Norfolk are primarily dominated by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust with 32 reserves in Norfolk alone, and the RSPB with 8 sites, some on the wonderful Norfolk coastline, some inland on the Norfolk Broads, and others even further inland in woodland. Norfolk’s history of wealthy landowners means a legacy of magnificent stately homes that are open to the public. Our very own Downton Abbeys include Sandringham, the Royal family’s country retreat, Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall, the home of Britain’s first Prime Minister, and the National Trust owned Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Oxburgh Hall. We are not short of historical pubs to visit and the Rose and Crown in the village has won several awards with everything you’d expect from a Norfolk village inn – twisting passages and hidden corners, low ceilings and old beams, pamment floors and log fires, excellent beers, friendly staff and a relaxed, informal atmosphere. It is 10 minutes walk!!!! The Old Bank is a small, family run bistro restaurant in Snettisham, North Norfolk, located just a few miles away from Hunstanton and the coast. Their main aim is to offer modern, fresh and imaginative food, using locally sourced produce whenever possible. In October 2018 the restaurant was named The Good Food Guide Best Local Restaurant 2019 for the whole of Britain and soon after was also listed in the Michelin Guide. 7 minutes walk!! Shopping for food and daily items is important and the village has a small but well equipped COOP complete with cash machine. It is only five minutes walk away so you need never go short, starve or suffer from dehydration. The village also has a pharmacy, and a couple of hairdressers as well as a weekly auction. There is a good local bus service, enabling guests to travel around the coast for days out without having to worry about eating drinking and driving!!
