Marlpit Cottage | Beautiful Coastal Retreat

A beautiful 3 bedroom cottage located in the picturesque village of Salthouse. The area is renowned for it’s spectacular saltmarshes and shingle beach. A village shop and pub are less than a 10-minute walk away from the cottage. Popular seaside and market towns including Cromer and Holt are both less than 10 miles away. Outside is a gorgeous enclosed garden and patio. Off-street parking for 1 car is provided right in front of the cottage with electric car charging point! Marlpit Cottage is a charming 3-bedroom property featuring 1 double bedroom, 2 twin rooms (bunk beds), open plan kitchen-dining room and sitting room with a wood burner. There is a shower room on the first floor and separate W/C on the ground floor. Upon entering the cottage you are greeted with a mix of terracotta and slate flooring throughout the downstairs. The comfortable sitting room offers plenty of space to relax in front of the cosy wood-burning stove and there is also a dining table for intimate meals. The kitchen is fully equipped for home cooking with fridge (small freezer compartment), gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and cooking utensils. The living space downstairs opens onto the beautiful South facing lawned garden and patio area, the whole outdoor space is enclosed and private. Upstairs are the bedrooms and a shower room. All three bedrooms feature rustic vaulted wooden ceilings. The spacious master bedroom offers a double bed, plenty of storage space and a sink. Each twin room comprises of well designed, built in bunk beds as well as an additional platform / play space under the roof – loved by older children! Unfortunately we advise that these rooms are not suitable for under 5’s and use by other children is at your discretion. They would also not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues, and it is worth noting even the lower beds are high off the ground and can only be reached by a ladder. The beds are standard sized singles and can also be used by adults. The entire property and garden area are for your private use. Salthouse is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and renowned as a place to see some of the best wildlife in the country. Marlpit Cottage is within walking distance to the beach across the marshes and the village shop and pub. After a day out on the coast enjoy a relaxing meal at the charming Dun Cow pub, less then a 10-minute walk from the property and for many a visit to Salthouse would not be complete without a visit to the quirky Cookies Crab shop famed for its freshly caught seafood. The village is served by the excellent Coastal Hopper bus service operating between Wells-next-the-Sea and Cromer and stopping at many towns and villages in between. The twin rooms feature built in bunk beds as well as a platform / play space under the roof accessed by a wooden ladder. There are no banisters. We recommend that these twin rooms are not suitable for children under 5 years of age and use by other children is at your discretion. The single beds in the twin room are standard size and can be used by adults. The first floor shower room does not contain a W/C. Although the property offers Wi-Fi, please note due it's rural location it may be slower than what you are used to.
