This recently converted barn is situated in the village of Easebourne, close to the historic market town of Midhurst within the heart of The South Downs National Park. It combines country living in a small town community with easy access to Cowrday, Petworth and Goodwood Estates. Rooks Yard Cottage is ideal for a short break and is set in a lovely private garden with great secure off road parking. The cottage is approx 30 metres from the main house and is a recently converted barn and offers modern well furnished and comfortable accommodation for couples, solo travellers and families. There is also a sofa bed which can be used for one or two children under ten or a single adult. A travel cot is available for infants. The cottage is well heated with a combination of underfloor heating and a wood burning stove with a plentiful supply of logs. The kitchenette will be stocked with great breakfast produce such as muesli, homemade granola, porridge, fresh coffee, tea, and a selection of preserves . The kitchenette is equipped with an electric two ring hob and small oven and fridge with a small freezer compartment. The bathroom has a heated town rail, a bath with overhead shower and ample hot water. Upstairs there is a very comfortable kingsize bed for two lucky people. The sofa bed is also upstairs. There are no laundry facilities. There is a small private garden and courtyard with table and chairs for use by guests. There is also a wonderful gas barbecue for guests to use on those long hot summer evenings. Mari and Rob will be available to help you with local advice and any enquiries you may have. There is almost too much to mention - but here goes!! The historic market town of Midhurst is situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park which is criss-crossed with fabulous walks, rides and cycle routes. Midhurst has many cafés, restaurants, pubs and good local shops and boasts a ruined castle. For those who enjoy polo and golf look no further than Cowdray Park. The award winning Farmshop and café are well worth a visit. Slightly further a field is Petworth House and park. The pretty town of Petworth is the perfect place to go antique hunting. Goodwood House and Estate are 20 minutes drive away and host many, events for the horse racing and classic car enthusiasts. It also has two golf courses and an airfield Further afield are Chichester - Cathedral, Roman Palace, Theatre, Art Galleries, Cinemas, Restaurants, Marinas, etc. Portsmouth - Historic Royal Dockyards (HMS Victory, Mary Rose and others) Arundel - Castle, Wildfowl and Wetland Centre Weald and Downlands Open Air Museum at Singleton There are many lovely country pubs and places of special interest in the area to discover. The train stations of Pulborough and Haslemere are around a 20 minute drive away. Train time to London is approximately 50 minutes. There is a bus station in Midhurst. Local buses run regularly to the main centres. Taxis are also available. There is a direct train service to Gatwick from Pulborough. Driving to Heathrow and Gatwick you should allow approx 1 hour. We have ample secure, off road parking for two cars. Access to the cottage is along a gravel path with a couple of steps.
