The Old Dairy is the largest of our three holiday cottages with a wonderfully spacious open plan living area combined with a kitchen and dining area. All come together with comfort and luxury at every turn. The vaulted ceiling and oak beams dominate upstairs, where you will find two beautifully elegant and comfortable bedrooms and a modern luxurious bathroom with a roll top bath and large shower. Outside you can sit at your large table in your own enclosed garden with a lovely lawned area. The Old Dairy is a haven of colour, comfort, mod cons and luxury. The two wonderfully comfortable Ercol sofas are accompanied by an equally comfy chairs all donned with an array of bright colours cushions. Relax in front of the TV, connected up to Netflix Youtube, BBC and more. Or take a book from the bookcase, light up the wood-burning stove, throw on some logs and let the flames enchant and warm you. Or spoil yourself and do both! If you’re feeling a little peckish then step into the luxurious, well-equipped kitchen – microwave, 5 ring ceramic hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and a full complement of crockery, glassware and cutlery. It’s all there. Dine at the beautifully painted kitchen table. There is even a washing machine/dryer in case you need it. An oak door leads to a delightful cloakroom with rich blue tiled floor, vessel basin onto of a rustic table with hand-painted legs in teal (it’s actually Vardo - one of those fancy named paints from Farrell and Ball!). Behind a pair of oak doors, you will the hallway cupboard with lots of hanging space and also a useful storage space for those travel bags and boots. Heading up the oak staircase you enter into a world of elegantly curved oak beams and vaulted ceilings in the landing and bedrooms. The first bedroom with its eclectic mix of old and new. From stripped back oak floorboards with divine underfloor heating to a 50-year-old Ercol armchair clad delightfully colourful cushion to the centre piece oak double bed with lovely old cupboard either side upon which sit colourfut blue lamps - the perfect place to recuperate after a day in the great outdoors. The second bedroom beckons you with its with delightful colourful bedside table and yellow lamp with simply wonderful metal single beds either side of it. A pair of quirky oak doors lead to the bathroom with is rolltop bath and separate enticing shower to invigorate yourself. There are lots of nooks are cranny in this bathroom with their own little surprises. Head back down and out of the front door onto your drive and lovely open garden with ample outdoor seating around a large old table where you can breakfast, lunch or dine or fire up a BBQ for some flamed grilled delights. Both upstairs and downstairs has underfloor heating – even the understairs cupboard just in case you want to stay warm whilst hiding there playing Hide and Seek! The eco-warriors amongst you will love the solar panels, eco flush toilets, recycling bin and double glazing throughout, high spec insulation and air tested to the most demanding regs and external power points to enable you to charge up your electric car. Across the garden, within one of our barns, you will a recreational space including a Bonzini football table that came out of a Parisian café some 15 years ago. Enjoy! Some spare wellies and coats are available here in case you forgot to bring some. It goes without saying all heating and hot water is provided together with linen and super soft towels. Mingle with your fellow holidayers – there is are equally luxurious cottage behind to yours - or do your own thing and venture out and explore glorious West Sussex. You have direct access to footpaths and bridleways which take you through our farm and out into the beautiful countryside beyond. As you venture out of the farm you will notice our ponies. We run a private stud where we breed native ponies. If you are lucky you may even see a foal! As well as our ponies we have 5 dogs, 4 farm cats and chickens so a lot going on around the Old Dairy. Two miles away is the pretty village of Billingshurst with its church, pub and Sainsbury. It also has a wonderful cosy Thai place, two Indian restaurants and our favourite Chinese Takeaway – the Oriental Express. Catch a train from Billingshurst for a day trip to London. The journey takes just over an hour. Alternatively, Horsham is about 20 minutes away by car with a Waitrose, John Lewis, Sainsburys and wonderful collection of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as it vibrant market every Thursday and Saturday with local produce, street food and live music. Well worth a visit. For your ales and wines visit nearby Hepworth Brewery serving traditional West Sussex craft beers and ales or Nyetimber and Nutbourne Vineyards for wine tours and a tastings. For heights venture up Blackdown Hill near Petworth for the highest point in West Sussex or our personally favourite Leith Hill for the highest point in South-East England. Children will love the nearby Fishers Farm Park with horse and tractor rides, the most friendly farm animals, adventure playground, indoor soft play area, theatre shows and cafe. Our children spent many many joyful days here. Places to visit include Arundel for its magnificent castle, the fine Elizabethan Parham House, 'Glorious' Goodwood for its exhilarating racing days, and Bignor Roman Villa for its stunning mosaic floors. Then there is the historic National Trust Petworth House and Gardens surrounded by so many antique shops. 30 minutes away you drop into the wonderfully bohemian Brighton. Spend hours wondering the narrow North Laines crammed with its quirky, diverse and sometimes quite ridiculous shops, stopping at its many independent coffee shops or our personally favourite Fatto a Mano for the freshest pizzas in town. Wonder down to the pier or drum up the courage to take a ride 531ft up the world’s tallest moving observation tower for breath-taking views across Brighton, the South Downs and the English Channel. Don’t make the mistake of heading straight back from Brighton. As you leave head up into Devil’s Dyke. It’s not at all devilish but one of the most breathtakingly spots in the South Downs – you are on top of a 100m deep V-shaped valley with the most stunning views in all directions. Catch the action of nutty hand gliders as they launch themselves of this spot. For beaches Brighton is wonderfully vibrant though stony. Head over to West Wittering for the most delicious Blue Flag sandy beach, glorious sand dunes, and beach café. Then head home through the pretty cathedral city of Chichester. So much to do, so little time. Don’t rush it. Relax, enjoy and just come back for more.
