Jasmin Cottage (beach 10 mins)
Jasmin, our 2 bedroom Normandy gite is able to accommodate up to 4 people. Downstairs there is a living/dining area and a well equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a fan-assisted electric oven, separate grill, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. There is also an outside seating area. There is a TV with French and English channels and wi-fi. We have extensive gardens with a heated swimming pool between April and October. Our farm is in a quiet spot in the middle of a small village next to the church. There are lots of lovely walks nearby and we are in the designated nature reserve of 'Le Parc de Marais' We have 3 acres on our farm including flower and vegetable gardens, pastures with ponies, sheep and goats and chickens. We live on site and can help you with sightseeing and restaurant recommendations, you can help out at feeding time if you like! We are situated in the heart of beautiful, peaceful countryside, about 45 mins from Cherbourg on the west coast of the Cotentin peninsula opposite Jersey. We have four self-catering holiday cottages – The Stables, Chèvrefeuille, Jasmin and Le Rêve. Our farm is in a charming and secluded spot within a typical Norman village. We have extensive gardens and we encourage children to learn about and help out with our animals. The farm is close to uncrowded sandy beaches only 8km from our farm, and we are ideally placed for visiting Mont St Michel, Bayeux, and the Landing Beaches, or house hunting in the Cotentin area. The attractive market towns of La Haye du Puits and Portbail, 6km and 8km away, have a good selection of local shops and restaurants as well as supermarkets. If you are a fan of French street markets there is one available every day within easy driving distance. There are many fetes, fairs and festivals during the year, or you might just want to enjoy the tranquillity & beauty of the surrounding countryside, there are some beautiful walks and our farm is right by the network of cycleways. All parking is free in the local towns and at the beach, big change from England! We have a selection of bikes you can use to get around, we are next to the cycle paths. Don't forget some shops and banks close between 12-2pm in rural France during the week, banks are closed on Mondays and out of season and some supermarkets are closed on Sundays.
