The ocean is warmed by the gulf stream in the summer, avg. temp. 70-73 degrees. Restaurants are plentiful, with freshly caught seafood. There are plenty of shopping stores in Horta or surrounding villages. Large supermarkets are available for those who prefer cooking from home.
