Andros is the second biggest island of the Cyclades, situated before the island of Tinos and Myconos. Its raw beauty is remarkable! The house’s traditional Cycladic architecture gives you the air of the old greek-style vacation that we see in movies! Its sea view is unique, feels like you are on an airplane, while it is very close to the port,beaches,restaurants,bars,as well as other pitturesque villages worth visiting. Decor is simple, traditional and cozy, making it simple to live in and use. The place is ideal for a family, yound children or even a couple or friends! It can sleep up to four (4) persons, having a super comfortable double bed and a front space with a large convertible couch (turns into a double bed). Ceiling fan available for the warm days. It has a dining table with a sea-view that makes your morning coffee truly enjoyable! Cooking at the house is also an option at the open-plan kitchenette. One bathroom with a shower. There is a large veranda that has an amazing view of the sea. Cleaning, changing linens etc during your stay is an extra charge of 20€ per time. Consierge services available upon request. The house is located at 2,2 kilometers from the port of Gavrio, where the boat arrives. The closest beach is at 2,3 kilometers, having as option other beaches around as well. The town of Andros is 30 kilometers away. Chora has many choices. It has a big number of cultural choices, especially during summertime. The MOCA- Museum of Contemporary Art/ Goulandris Museum, the Archaeological Museum of Andros, the Kydonieus Institute, the Maritime Museum of Andros are some of my suggestions. Leisure is also an option at Andros. Apart from the great bars, shops, restaurants etc, the International Festival of Andros is hosted every summer (July & August) at Chora, at a newly stone- built open theatre, featuring cinema, music and theatre events. Batsi, the pitturesque little village with the amazing nightlife is 4 kilometers away. Very romantic during the sunset for a stroll or an after- noon coffee. The area of the house is called “upper Agios Petros” and its not very populated, however, you have some other houses scattered around. Nothing is blocking the view of the sea though! Andros is also known for its great beaches. If you do not want to drive a lot the location of the house is ideal. On a 10 minute drive one could go the exotic Chryssi Ammos (Golden Sand) beach, where you can play beach volley and then enjoy a cold beer at the bar, or the Kypri Beach right next to it, where you can indulge into water sports (windsurf, kite surf, canoe, puddling etc). At a 40 minute drive, you have a more "quiet" choice, Vitali beach, located over the hill behind the house at the north part of the island. A really impressive beach with a Taverna if you get hungry. Also, Felos beach, located behind the port is at a 20 minute drive. For the adventures ones: Achla beach, Zorgos beach, Vori beach, Ateni beach, Grias Pidima beach. If you are interested in hiking, walking around and exploring routes and trails of the island, a very good team called Andros Routes is available. Some means of trasportation is required in order for you to get around the island (car, motorbike). Car Rental spots can be found at the port of Gavrio, where the boat arrives- we suggest you to book in advance (more info provided herein). Andros is easily accessible from the port of Rafina by boat. Journey time is 2 hours. From the Eleftherios Venizelos airport there is direct transport to Rafina port, (distance approximately 30 minutes) either by bus (which leaves every 50 minutes) or taxi. From the centre of Athens there is the choice of a bus (KTEL) going to Rafina port. From the port o Piraeus you can either take a taxi, or combine the Metro and then bus to arrive to the port of Rafina.
