The perfect peaceful retreat or romantic hideaway, our large private wing with views over the garden and countryside is self-contained and fully-equipped. The beautiful bedroom complete with large dressing room and spacious en-suite bathroom with freestanding bath, double washbasin and roomy walk-in shower makes for an ideal romantic getaway for two, or a luxurious stay for one! Downstairs is a very large drawing room with a cosy log burner. The kitchen is well equipped with lovely views. Upon arrival, you will be able to park on the drive right outside your own personal front door. Upstairs, your private wing contains a beautiful bedroom suite complete with a large dressing room and spacious en-suite bathroom. The freestanding, double-ended bath with views over the countryside, double washbasin and roomy walk-in in shower makes this the perfect place for a romantic getaway for two.. or a luxurious stay for one! To ensure a good night’s sleep, the king-sized bed is fitted with Egyptian cotton sheets. No need to worry about travelling light - the dressing room has floor to ceiling wardrobes as well as a sofa under the window for relaxing reading in the daytime. Downstairs, there is a beautiful entrance hall with a second WC and a small utility room complete with a spacious freezer and plenty of space to store muddy boots and coats. The drawing room is very large, with a choice of three sofas for cosying up in front of the log burner or watching a film on the wide-screen television. It also doubles up as a dining room with a big table in the bay window. Leading off the drawing room is a small but well equipped kitchen, complete with a fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and induction hob/oven. The kitchen looks over the extensive lawn, with the doors opening up to your own little outdoor eating area. Sitting here, you’ll be able to soak up the peace and quite of the surroundings and perhaps, if you are lucky, see our resident barn owl make its evening scope of the fields! Adding to the tranquility, the house is surrounded by Romanby Golf & Country Club, a stunning 200 acres of serene parkland. Keen golfers can enjoy an 18 hole course that follows the meandering River Wiske. You'll have a private, self-contained wing of the farmhouse, so you will not need to share any rooms with us. You will also have access to your own outdoor eating area in front of your kitchen. We are situated on the outskirts of Northallerton, a market town nestled in between the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors National Parks. This makes us the ideal base for anyone looking to explore the beautiful landscapes and walks that North Yorkshire has to offer. We are more than happy to offer recommendations of places to get you started! Northallerton itself has a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, plenty of shops and some lovely restaurants and bars should you wish to treat yourself. For those looking for a day out a little further afield, it only takes around 20 minutes to get to the historic walled city of a York on the train from Northallerton. If you are reaching us by public transport, Northallerton train station is handily situated on the mainline between London, Newcastle and Edinburgh as well as serving Cleveland and Durham. Northallerton train station is a 5 minute drive from the property, making us easily accessible by public transport. You will also have your own parking space right outside the front door.
