Le Grand Bois

Le Grand Bois is a charming 18th century farmhouse renovated with taste and opening onto a large garden. It's a family house located in a hamlet 500 m from the Villecartier forest and 3km from Bazouges la Pérouse, a small village full of character. Old but resolutely modern by its comfort and its decoration, it is an ideal place for a family vacation or a friends getaway. The tranquility of the place will suit both people wishing to rest or being active seeking to discover the beautiful region. The house offers you an indoor living space of 180 m² and includes 3 large and bright bedrooms, a dining room with a Scandinavian fireplace, a living room with a traditional fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom as well as separate toilettes on the first floor. The garden with its large lawn and terrasse is an ideal place to relax in the sun, to enjoy family games or savour nice meals. The property is an ideal base to explore Northern Brittany, its major tourist sites such as Mont Saint Michel, Saint Malo, Cancale, Rennes, Fougères, visit the regional farmer markets and discover some of the beautiful beaches. The house "Le Grand Bois" is located in a small typical Breton hamlet called Le Grand Bois, which is 3km from the charming village of Bazouges-La-Perouse (where you can find a grocery store, a petrol station, a bakery, a pharmacy, an ATM, a post office as well as a small tourism office) and 4,9km from Trans-la-Fôret on D90. The Villecartier forest is only 950m away, offering nice walks or bike rides as well as other outdoor activities. You will be in the countryside and a car is highly recommended to be able to explore the region and to run errands. The car should ideally be parked in the courtyard. The nearest train station is in Combourg (15min by car), from where you can easily reach the cities of Rennes (TGV station) and St Malo. The closest international airport is Rennes Jacques-de-la-Lande (code RNS), about 45-60min by car. Ferry lines offer crossings from Portsmouth in the UK to St Malo (50km) in Brittany, or to Caen (120km) in Normandy.
