It overlooks the entrance to the House, as well as a private bathroom and cooking space. * History of Fonte do Gil: The name “Gil” comes from the fact that the owner of the land is called Gil. Located about 200 meters south of the village, at the bottom of the steep street of the same name which, descending almost from the square, next to the Abbot's house, takes on a slope that is accentuated, has an old sidewalk and is characterized by having a fountain , all in granite, served by two cylindrical pipes, drawn from two artistic finials, and topped by two pinnacles and a cross. It is of Jesuit Baroque style, and was completed in 1735. Even today there are public washrooms, two large tanks all made of stone, into which the surplus water from the fountain flows, being used daily, given the water temperature, always running in winter, be very mild and, in summer, very fresh. It had its romantic history, as it was famous for being the date and favorite place of lovers. It was said that anyone who drank that water would fall in love with the land and would never leave it again.
