Tranquil Bush Retreat just outside Maun,sleeps 2-4

Motswiri Cottage. Enjoy the calls of the fish eagles by day and the owls by night. We are situated 10 Km from Maun on the Ghanzi road on a large, quiet & shady property next to the Thalamakane river. Perfectly positioned within 15 mins of Maun. The cottage sleeps 2 adults & 2 children however we are able to accommodate 2 extra people in a fully equipped tent erected next to the house (the bathroom is shared with the house). NB This must be pre arranged & is at an additional cost. You will stay in a fully equipped self catering cottage with rustic charm and a lovely view. We have no noisy neighbours or bars close by to disturb you at night. Instead you will be able to hear the owls, frogs and hippos. The house has plenty of space around it to enjoy a camp fire at night. Should you not feel like cooking, you can walk 5 minutes to the Sitatunga campsite, pool and bar and enjoy a meal. We have a private road you can use without leaving the property. Our property is large and you are welcome to explore the paths under the trees to enjoy the birdlife or just to see what goes on behind the scenes of a safari company. You will check in using a lock box for your convenience, however Andrew or Henrie will come and meet you after you arrive to say hello and answer any questions you may have. Unfortunately I won't be around myself but will be available anytime on messages. Our property of 40 hectares is tranquil and unspoilt, it is also our safari base and family home. The Thalamakane river is about 20m away and when flowing, is home to hippos and crocodiles as well as an abundance of birdlife. Right now we are in a dry cycle and the river bed is bone dry again after 12 years of enjoying a flowing river. Hopefully, if the rains are good in Angola the flood will reach us annually and the river will flow for a few months each year during this dry cycle. You will need a car during your stay and if you intend to go to the National Parks you will need a 4 wheel drive. A car is essential as we are not in town. It is easy to get a taxi out here but not so easy the other way round. We have WiFi at the cottage, it is not high speed but good enough for basic needs. Now and then we experience interruptions to the service but it’s a small price to pay for being surrounded by nature.
