Country cottage B&B near Chobham & Longcross
Lovely cosy cottage, close to Chobham village, Longcross Film Studios, McLaren, Fairoaks, Windsor, Ascot, Hampton Court Palace. Beautiful countryside, birdsong and peace, it is good for singles, couples, friends and families. 20 mins to Heathrow, 25 mins into London Waterloo from Woking station. No local public transport but our road is part of the Surrey cycleway. There is a very friendly dog here - but not in the house. Fresh eggs from my hens. Free high-speed wifi. The bedroom with king size bed overlooks the back garden, fields and woodland with a pretty adjoining private sitting room with a very comfortable double sofabed on a sprung frame; and a television. There is a bathroom for guests' use and an additional bathroom when needed - both with power showers. Free high-speed wifi and tea and coffee in the bedroom. The breakfast room and outside areas are available for guests' use - and the garden gate leads straight out into the adjoining fields, woodland and Chobham Common. Plenty of parking in the driveway and bikes available to borrow. I will be around to help with anything needed - and my son lives next door! The cottage is on the edge of Chobham Common, with lovely walks and riding. The bluebell woods here are stunning in the spring and the pond next door is covered in waterlilies in the summer. You are in the middle of the countryside but close access to the M25, M3, M4 and A30 - perfect for days out. There are printed fact-sheets in the rooms with recommendations of local pubs, restaurants and days out and I'm happy to help with anything you are wanting to do or see. I've lived here a long time so have very good local knowledge. You really need a car here as there is no local public transport. There is plenty of parking in the driveway. Our quickest mainline station is Woking - a 10 minutes drive away. Fast trains to London Waterloo take 25 minutes and the last train back leaves London at 1.05am. It helps if you are animal-friendly. My dog respects boundaries and only comes into the conservatory - not into the house. The Bengal cat does have the run of the house but bedroom doors are kept closed. There is no street lighting here and there are no pavements. You can borrow bikes if you want to cycle locally but I'd advise that any walking is done into the countryside on your doorstep and not along these country lanes.
