Our village is set in a beautiful part of Suffolk, well located for leisure activities. We have an excellent farm shop, a country cafe with play areas for children and a local pub serving a tapas menu and traditional Sunday lunches. The location is close to several golf clubs and spas. Day trips for adults might include visits to Constable's Flatford Mill, Sutton Hoo (recently featured in the Netflix film, The Dig) and Mersea Island for fresh seafood and the location of the new Apple TV series The Essex Serpent. Several local vineyards offer tours and tastings. There are many pretty villages to visit, especially the famous Wool villages with their beautiful churches, ancient buildings and cream teas! Most also have very popular farmers markets. For children, don't miss the fabulous Kentwell Hall with Tudor recreation weekends and other family events throughout the year. Popular day trips include local beaches, Go-Ape, Aqua Park, Crazy Golf, Jimmy's Farm and Easton Farm Park and the Steam Railway Museum. Train information: London to Colchester by train is 50 minutes Nearest airport is Stansted which is 45 minutes by car. To minimise noise disturbance for our neighbours, the outdoor area available for guests after 9pm is limited to the fairy lit courtyard, decorated with outdoor sofas and firepit. We also have a ‘quiet’ policy indoors thereafter with no late night loud music. Parents should note that there is a small shallow pond in the garden which is not fenced. Pets are only allowed on request and must not be given access to the bedrooms or left alone in the house at any time. The garden is not fenced securely around the total perimeter. The annexe in the south wing is not part of the listing and is reserved exclusively for the owners private use when they are in the country.
