2 Bedroom Seafront Apartment
We are excited to share our holiday apartment with guests, the apartment is on the top floor [there is no lift] of the now converted former Buregate Pub, overlooking the sandy beach & seafront. The spacious two-bed apartment easily accommodates a maximum of 4 adults/children (plus infants) without being crowded. The sandy beach, shops, amenities, amusements, etc are on the doorstep and all within easy walking distance. Full size designated parking space plus free on street parking outside. The apartment is on the second floor (three flights of stairs), accessed via the shared front door on Buregate Road. The hallway and stairs are a shared space where items should not be left out of consideration to neighbours. All communal areas and space around the building are covered by CCTV. Unfortunately, there is not a lift in this building, so the apartment would not be appropriate for anyone who struggles with stairs. We do not allow any pets and smoking is strictly not allowed within any part of the building. We ask all guests to bring slippers and to remove their outdoor shoes within the apartment. The apartment is thoroughly cleaned before and after each guest in line with Government Covid and Airbnb guidance. The apartment consists of an open plan living room-kitchen-diner including a bay window with a sea front view. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you need, an oven, induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. There is a 4-person folding dining table and chairs, corner sofa, coffee table, sideboard with smart television, selection of board games and information about the apartment/local area. There is a large modern family bathroom with bath and overhead shower, sink and toilet. There is a good-sized twin bedroom and a double master bedroom with modern ensuite. The bedrooms have drawers and hanging space, bedside tables and lamps, televisions and wifi throughout. The master bedroom has a desk/dressing table which can be used for ‘home’ working. There is gas central heating through out which is thermostatically controlled; hot water is on demand from a gas combi-boiler. The boiler is new, serviced and checked annually, there are carbon monoxide and smoke alarms throughout the apartment. There are new carpets in bedrooms and vinyl flooring in all other spaces. We do not live local to the apartment, so sadly we do not meet and greet guests very often. A key for the main front door is left in a safe box, the code and directions to which are provided after the booking is confirmed. A digital door lock is fitted to the apartment front door, we provide this code at the same time. The key safe and apartment front door codes are changed after each booking for security reasons. We are always contactable and have someone local who can help in emergencies. Check in is 3pm and checkout 10am. Earlier check ins or later check outs can often be arranged for a small fee, please ask in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements. We're always available to be contacted by phone to help guests and can arrange or resolveproblems quickly and easily. The apartment is within a block of 5 other apartments. Our neighbours are a mix of permanent residents, professional workers who stay intermittently and an apartment used by a family for holidays only. We ask you to respect their privacy and environment by being quiet when entering/leaving the building. Please avoid rubbing/dragging items along the walls as the place has only just been refurbished and we all want to keep it looking nice! Please remove muddy/dirty shoes before walking on the carpets. Buregate House is on the corner of Buregate Road and Sea Road. It is a 30 second walk to the sandy beach and only a minute or few to the pier, amusements, shops, pubs, restaurants, theatre, ice cream kiosks, the best fish and chips in town, play areas, leisure centre, park, etc. We chose this apartment for its views and location as the perfect place to enjoy a fantastic British seaside holiday! If you like walking, try walking from the apartment along the seafront to Felixstowe Ferry and enjoy a meal in the Ferryboat Inn. It is a lovely, level and beautiful walk from the heart of the seaside resort to the rural Suffolk coast and old harbour at the far end. In the opposite direction, you can follow the seafront to Landguard Point, where you can see the large ships coming in and out of the UK’s largest container port. The walk passes a fab new café (opening autumn 2021), play areas, a Martello tower (museum) and sand dunes before reaching a shingle head and nature reserve where the historic fort is located. For really keen walkers, why not do a circular walk around the Orwell & Stour estuaries over a few days. It's 43km door to door to walk to the foot ferry, cross to Shotley, walk around the Orwell estuary back to Felixstowe. I did it in 9 hours, nearly killed me! But beautiful. Next time I'm going to get the ferry to Harwich and walk back to Felixstowe over SEVERAL days. If you come by car we have a dedicated parking space on site (the only full size space so you can fit any size car in our space) and there is free on-street parking, albeit on a first come basis. The train station in Felixstowe is a 20 to 30 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi ride away. There are regular buses to/from Ipswich and local villages. There is a foot ferry to/from Harwich from Spring to Autumn departing from near the container port. We provide towels and linen as standard for one double bed and two single beds only.
