The Railway Wagon hideaway retreat, rural Suffolk
The wagon is set in the heart of the countryside offering you a stunning view and complete tranquility and privacy. Recently renovated, the space has been maximised to contain a double bed, dining table, wood burner/stove and kitchen area. The perfect place for a romantic getaway or if you are looking to escape to the countryside. Please be aware that there is no electricity (torches and tea lights are provided). NEWLY ADDED: A shower, loo and power points are now available to use very close by. The Railway Wagon has just been lovingly restored into a gorgeous home for two people. It has a double bed, table and chairs, cooking stove and kitchen implements, all very cleverly designed to fit into the minimal space. Guests have access to the wagon, which is set in a very private area, overlooking stunning Suffolk scenery. There is a separate chemical toilet just metres from the wagon (but discreetly hidden). Now available from July 2019 is a shower and annex a short walk (30 seconds) from the wagon, which includes a shower, wash basin, WC, kettle and power points. I love having people to stay in the Wagon and we also have a holiday cottage on site too so we are used to people staying on site and only too happy to help with what to do in the area, local amenities and any other issues you may encounter. You will feel like you are in a completely private area and in the heart of the countryside where the Wagon is located, surrounded by stunning views of fields. The Wagon is a 5 minute drive from Wickham Market train station. A car is advised to travel around the area though as buses are limited. The nearest train station is just a 5 minute drives away (Wickham Market). We are a 5 minute drive from the local supermarket and a selection of shops. There is a pub 5 minutes down the road and places to get a takeaway from in Wickham Market. Aldeburgh beach is a 20 minute drive away.
