Shangrila is set in 10 acres of pristine coastal indigenous grassland and forest with direct access to a beautiful beach. The garden has been professionally landscaped by the famous Elsa Pooley, and is a show garden. Guests have access to the whole garden as well as the games lawn, especially designed for ball games Elizabeth is on call at all times, and the resident staff are there to help The KwaZulu-Natal South Coast is an unspoilt paradise, with the Aliwal Shoal close by, as well as more than 20 top class golf courses within a 2 hour drive. Right on our doorstep is Umdoni and Selbourn Golf Courses, with Scottburgh, Southbroom, The Wild Coast Sun, Durban Country Club, and San Lameer Golf Courses all within an hour of Shangrila. We are also close to the Oribi Nature Reserve, and Crookes Nature Reserve. Crockworld has the most outstanding collection of crocodiles, snakes and birds set in a beautiful indigenous garden.
