A fishing village up to 1990 or so, it was discovered and has been transformed into a popular holiday destination over the past 15 years, without losing its original charm and tranquillity. Old eucalyptus trees and a small river that flows into the sea, create a distinctive and unique ambiance (it is a wildlife refuge). As for the location it is a great choice as a starting point for excursions into western Crete. At a distance of about 5 Km from Georgioupoli lies the Kournas sweet water lake that worth's a visit. KASTELLOS VILLAGE is built in a privileged location. During your stay here you can make a tour around the area and enjoy nature. It is worth visiting the famous Kourna lake, which is only 5 km from the village. You can also visit the area of Argiroupolis, known for the running and spring waters. You will have a meal under the plane trees and visit the small church of Saint Prokopios, which is built in a cave. The popular beach of Georgioupolis (5 km from the complex) is a pole of attraction for the visitors of the area.
