Fisher's Glen is an historic cottage, located on the channel to the Fisher & Glen Lakes, 1.5 miles from downtown Glen Arbor, across the street from the Crystal River, and trailhead to the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail. Dock your boat in front and cruise the Glen Lakes, or bring your kayaks & enjoy quiet Little or Big Fisher Lake, or the Crystal River. THIS IS A SATURDAY TO SATURDAY RENTAL DURING THE SUMMER OF 2020. 2 night minimum off-season This may be one of the most unique properties in the area. The main portion of the cabin was constructed by John Fisher, and his wife Harriet (who actually named Glen Arbor), in the 1880's. You will see some original features, like the fir flooring that was milled at the Fisher Sawmill over 130 years ago, the original log walls in some of the living spaces, that was uncovered during remodeling. Alongside the historic aspects, we provide a modern kitchen and full bath, plus a small half bath, and an outdoor shower, a bunk room, and two more roomy bedrooms. There's an expansive grassy front yard on the channel, with a fire pit for roasting some marshmallows and unwinding after a day on the water or touring the area, plus a couple of hammocks for an afternoon nap. Need something from town? About a two minute drive. You will have all access to the home and property. This is a quiet neighborhood of tight-knit year-round and seasonal residents. We ask that you respect their Summer by keeping an outdoor quiet time (around the fire pit or wherever) to 11pm, and abiding by a no-fireworks-on property requirement.
