Private Room in Vintage North Adams Home, very close to MCLA, short drive or 15 minute walk to Downtown and Mass MoCA. Quiet neighborhood with off street parking. Cable TV and Wifi included. Guests also welcome to use living room as work or relaxation area. NOTE: DUE TO RECENT IMPOSITION OF STATE LODGING TAX I HAVE HAD TO ADD A "CLEANING FEE" which in reality is to cover the new lodging tax imposed by the state of Massachusetts. Sorry folks, the big corporate interests felt cheated. Right! This is a large older home in town. originally a one family home but now three units. My unit is the the top floor (2BR one Bath)of the original house. The home is situated on the side of a hill overlooking the older architectural homes of North Adams and a mountain view beyond. In addition to the private room there is also a sitting room with recliner couch, dining table and cable TV which can also be used as a work space if desired. I own the building but live on the top floor unit, the Guest Room is on the same floor as my room. There are numerous pictures posted, please do take a look at them. The apartment is basically the 4 original upstairs bedrooms of the old one family home. Two remain bedrooms, one the kitchen and one the TV/sitting room. While the two bedroom entrances are close to one another, there are closets in between and no common walls. Noise does not carry between the rooms. There is also an outside private entrance to the Guest Room which can be used if desired for more privacy. The bedroom doors can be seen in the picture posted as "hall looking toward bedrooms". I am quiet and tend to stay mostly in my room, which has all the comforts I need, when I have guests. Please take a look at the numerous reviews. Half hour from Pittsfield and Southern Berkshires, and one half hour north to Bennington VT. I tend to interact as much or a little as guests might desire, I'm most happy to answer questions about the area. The story of North Adams, the demise of the mills and factories in the 80's and 90's and the rebirth through the arts, anchored by Mass MoCA is the story here. Of course the nature has always been abundant here. A must see is the top of Mount Greylock, about a 20 minute scenic drive from Route 2. Bennington VT. half hour to the north on Route 7 has some nice covered bridges and the Benningtom Monument which has a great view from the tip Mostly a car is needed. 5 Minute walk to MCLA. 15 Minute Walk to MassMoCA Please note that the map provided by Airbnb is incorrect. Yale Street Intersects with Winter Street. Yale Street is only two blocks long, but on the map provided by Airbnb, One block of Yale Street is incorrectly identified as Winter Street. Once booked, click on your itinerary, and under house rules, you will find driving directions from Downtown to the house.
