Summary: Lost River State Park is the perfect destination for swimming, birding, camping, hiking or just plain relaxing and enjoying the unsurpassed beauty. It is a perfect choice if you like hiking and enjoy nature. Hiking at Lost River State Park is exceptional and covers 23 miles of trails providing hours of exercise and an unparalleled opportunity to study nature, given the abundance of flora and fauna found in the park. Campsite C is located off the White Oak and Miller's Rock trails. From your parking location near the stables, it is about a 1.5-mile winding hike to the tent. A beautiful, wooded spot, Campsite C is within walking distance of a fresh spring. From your tent, it is also approximately a 1/2 mile hike to the scenic Cranny Crow Overlook with its commanding views of Virginia and West Virginia at 3,200 feet elevation. Your campsite is equipped with a sturdy canvas tent on its own wooden deck platform. The tent is furnished with a queen bed and memory foam mattress, 2 side tables, 2 Adirondack chairs and a propane tent heater. A picnic table, fire pit with a grill, solar shower, and portable camp loo are also provided. There is an additional pop-up tent provided for up to 4 extra guests, but you will have to bring your own air mattresses/sleeping pads for this tent. Beyond your campsite, you can enjoy many other recreational amenities available at Lost River like the outdoor swimming pool, horseback riding, tennis courts, volleyball court, archery range, badminton, and horseshoe. Horseback riding on the park's beautiful wooded trails with scenic overlooks and panoramic views is a memorable experience and expert guides will accompany you from Hidden Trails Stables (available seasonally). Private riding is available year-round after registering at the park office. The Space: Looking for adventure? This hike-in campsite is tucked away but worth the trip! Other Things to Note: Be sure to bring your own food, firewood and bedding. There is no electricity or running water available at your Tentrr site. Anything you pack in, you must pack out. All trash MUST be deposited in a designated receptacle at the end of your stay. If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee. Lost River does have public restrooms and a washouse with showers in the park but it is located near the pool and is several miles from this campsite, but you can use these facilities during the daytime if desired. Please beware that there are rattlesnakes, bears and other forest dwellers in this area. They are important members of the natural community, so we ask that you give them distance and respect for the safety of all. Have a wonderful stay! Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. If a Tentrr Camp Guide submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set! Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support. We can be reached at (888) 798-9093 or at [email protected].
