Aldeby is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is bounded to the south by the River Waveney, on the other side of which is Suffolk. The village is about five miles (8 km) by road from Beccles. The name Aldeby derives from the Old Norse word meaning 'old fortification'. Aldeby is well known for its fishing pits, beautiful country settings and an ideal village to relax in the countryside but still have easy to access by commute to nearby attractions . Aldeby is mentioned in the Domesday Book and was part of Clavering hundred. Parking is available at the site, the best way to get around is by car or bike for longer commutes. There is also many footpaths available so you can explore around the village and the countryside.
