Sea view detached cottage away from it all, romantic, peaceful, close to beaches
Nerola cottage is a very special place. It is a detached and secluded cottage for two people with spectacular sea views and sunsets - our guests tell us the photos don't do the property or the view justice. It is on the edge of the Cilento National Park. You instantly have a sense of being on top of the world in the little piece of paradise. It is in a rural location up our 300m private track and 350m above sea level although only a short drive for all amenities. It is perched on a hill looking down to Agropoli and across to the Amalfi Coast and at night the coastline lights up around the bay. It is quite magical. The cottage offers everything you will need for a relaxing and self-catering holiday. It is completely private and secluded with it's own garden, patio and plunge plunge pool (June to Sept). It isn't overlooked by neighbours and we always allow our guests complete privacy so it provides a perfect romantic hideaway, somewhere to relax and enjoy the sense of being at one with nature. It is only 15 minutes drive to the sandy beach at Baia di Trentova just outside Agropoli. There are glorious sea views and sunsets from the patio, garden, sitting room and bedroom. It has a galleried bedroom with a sea view even from the bed, spacious open plan living and is well equipped for a self catering holiday. It has woodburning stove in the sitting room. It has a private patio to the front and private garden to the side and patio surrounded by shrubs and plants with a plunge pool from June to September. There are sunloungers, tables and chairs and hammock. Together with our house it is set in 5 acres of land and countryside bordering the Cilento National Park. The peaceful cottage makes a perfect place to relax and enjoy the sense of calm and tranquility that is so hard to find these days. The private track of 300m to the cottage is steep, winding and gravelled. Therefore it is necessary to hire a small, manual transmission car. Further details can be provided about local car hire, train connections to Agropoli and the possibility we can collect you from the station. It is also possible to park your car safely on the track and walk up if you prefer. It is in a great location from which to explore the many medieval hilltop villages, a choice of sandy beaches and pretty coastal towns. The Greek temples at Paestum are only 25 mins away. The Amalfi coast, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mount Vesuvius are only 90 mins away. The grotto at Castelcivita is 1hr drive. Buffalo farms to try out the creamy mozzarella and other produce are 20 mins drive with the only organic farm in southern Italy located near Paestum called Vannulo. Boat trips. Plenty of local countryside/sea walks, endless wildlife, peace, tranquillity, views that change during the day, sunsets to marvel at. There is plenty to do in the area at any time of year or just relax and watch the landscape change before your eyes from the sitting room or gardens. We provide books, cds and dvds for lazy days together with maps and local information for venturing out or you may just want to stay put. The Thalasso Spa at San Marco di Castellabate is 25 minutes drive where you can enjoy the different pools, sauna, steamrooms and relaxation areas. Ferries run from Salerno port to Capri and the Amalfi coast from April to October. In July and August the smaller ferries from Agropoli port to Amalfi, Positano and Capri. The closest airport is Naples which is approx 1hr 45 minutes. There are car hire offices at the airport or alternatively you can get a direct train from Naples central station to Agropoli-Castellabate (the intercity train is 1hr 10mins and costs 15 euros pp) and there is a car hire office opposite the station. The cottage is 20 minutes from the station. There are also direct trains from Rome Termini which take 3 hours and 30 minutes. I am happy to give any travel advice and places to stay in Naples.
