Archway Cottage - on the edge of the Peak District
A cozy cottage in the village of Broadbottom on the edge of the Peak District, ideally situated a 25 minute train ride from Manchester! So whether you want a relaxing break in the country or you prefer the culture and nightlife of the city … we've got you covered. The cottage is both dog and child friendly with everything you need in a home away from home. We welcome you to make yourselves at home and explore everything the village and local area has to offer. From the moment you walk through the front door of this cosy cottage we hope you will start to relax and make yourself at home. You will immediately notice the fireplace with the log fire in the lounge which you can relax in front of in the evening after a busy day exploring. The kitchen is kitted out with everything that you need to create a wonderful meal or if you don't fancy cooking you can enjoy a takeaway from the local pub! The dining room can seat 6 comfortably around the table. After a busy day you can fall into either the double bed or one of the bunkbeds, made with cotton sheets and duvets you will be as snug as a bug in a rug! The bathroom is small but perfectly formed with a wetroom style shower and heated towel rail. To the rear there is an enclosed garden with chimenea and BBQ - perfect for outside dining. There are views of the hills through the archway at the back of the garden - plan your next adventure whilst relaxing with a drink! I live 5 minutes away, so am on hand to sort any problems out. Broadbottom is quaint village set on the edge of the Peak District, with access to both Glossop and Manchester by train. It is a friendly village that hosts plenty of community based events. There is the local cricket team and club where you can enjoy a match and a drink in the clubhouse. The club also has annual Beer and Gin Festivals which are well attended by both locals and visitors alike. Other events include yarn bombing, scarecrow competition and the duck race to name but a few. Getting around is easy!! There are walks from the doorstep or just a short drive away. There are plenty of options for cyclists too but beware that most routes include a hill!! The train takes you to Glossop in less than 10 minutes and Manchester is 25 minutes in the opposite direction.
