Kestrel Cottage has many original features and modern amenities, 4 bedrooms plus 2 optional sofa beds. Play loft, toy barn and lots of outdoor space for the kids = relaxation for you! There is lots to discover in Normandy and our welcoming cottage is a great base to explore countryside, lakes, forests, attractions and history. A converted cider barn, Kestrel Cottage is over 200 years old and full of character with comfort. English family next door to help if needed. We've welcomed families from all over the world, lots of 3 generations holidays and two families holidaying together. Plenty of space and a great holiday for those who want to mix rural relaxation with days out and visits. Shared garden with seating areas, BBQ and play equipment. Shared above ground solar heated swimming pool (fully fenced). Shared 'dusty barn', a barn with toys great for imaginative messy play! Exclusive use of the play loft, an indoor play area with toys and activities for all ages. The cottage itself has 2 double bedrooms, 2 twin bedrooms, spacious landing area equipped with toys, board games and a TV for DVD's, can be used as a second lounge or extra bedroom. Bathroom. Downstairs shower room and toilet. Well equipped kitchen. Lounge with log fire, plenty of comfortable seating, uk and french Tv. Dining room with table for 10. Leaflets for local attractions, information folder, guest book and hosts next door to call on if needed. We are a family with children and live in the main farmhouse which is attached to Kestrel Cottage. We are bound to see you around the place and are happy to chat if you'd like to. Definitely here to help if needed and having been here for 12 years have plenty of tips for places to go and things to see. We are in the middle of the countryside and surrounded by fields. There are miles of tracks right on the doorstep great for exploring, walking, running and cycling. Lots of attractions all around us, a zoo just up the road, a viaduct with adrenaline activities 10 minutes away, lake 30 minutes, forests on the doorstep, beaches 40 minutes, surrounded by D-day history, bayeux 30 minutes, family theme parks 40 minutes and the world famous Mont St Michel within an hour. Lots, LOTS more! You'll need a car. Local village a few minutes drive. Nearest town 20 minutes. Nearest city and Port is Caen, 40 minutes from here. Nearest train station is Vire, direct trains to Paris for a day out or even a disney day?! Pets are welcome by arrangement. We've got a dog, rabbit, cats and chickens.
