This area also includes 2 waterfront restaurants, The Pointe and Watersview. Norton’s at the Lake offers putt-putt, snowcones and a Saturday morning farmer’s market and flea market. The town of Roanoke Rapids is about 30 mins south if you’re looking for more shopping and dining options. If you’ve ever been to Lake Gaston you know what a peaceful, family-friendly area it is, truly a hidden gem. Although the holiday weekends are a little busier, generally traffic on the lake is very light, which is great for tubing or skiing or just looking at all the gorgeous homes. Jimmie’s Creek is a wide creek, equally suitable for a quiet evening kayak or paddle board ride or making some waves on that new tube or wakeboard. For those of you who may be new to the lake or just lake vacations in general, come see what you’ve been missing! Enjoy an extra cup of morning coffee while you watch the ducks that visit daily, drop a line in the water and kick-back on the dock or just float your day away under a beautiful, Carolina-blue sky . . . .whatever respite you need from the real world, you’ll find it here at Lake Joy!
