At Percy Wood Country Park, nestled in a secluded position, in the heart of Northumberland with peaceful surroundings stands Foxglove Retreat. It’s a lovely, cosy two bedroom, four birth accommodation. It has a hot tub facility, situated outdoors overlooking woodland trees and fields - very relaxing. Percy Wood is a fabulous peaceful site past Morpeth, on the outskirts of Swarland Village, with stunning views & woodland walks, and is ten minutes from the historic capital of the north Alnwick. The living room has a generously sized lounge, with three seat sofa, two arm-chairs, fireplace and 40 inch smart Tv with Netflix, You Tube and Amazon Fire Tv. We have Unlimited Wifi. The first bedroom houses a king-size bed, a dressing table area, ample storage with two wardrobes and drawers. It has an en-suite with bath, shower, Wc, sink, and mirrored cupboard. The second bedroom has two single beds, Tv with Netflix and You Tube, wardrobe, overhead storage, drawers and access to the main bathroom. The main bathroom has a shower with cubicle, pedestal washbasin with storage underneath, towel rack, mirrors and Wc. Foxglove retreat has an entrance lobby with mirror and allocated space to hang coats and store shoes, which is especially useful after long walks for taking off muddy shoes, coats and drying off the pooch, because we are of course dog friendly (limited number, please do enquire). There is a fully equipped kitchen, with all essentials supplied. The kitchen is fully fitted with built in appliances, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and five ring gas hob and oven. There are sliding doors onto the balcony with seating area. The balcony has views over the golf course and the Simonside Hills. There is parking for two cars. This location is perfect if you would like to explore Northumberland. It has everything to offer including castles such as Alnwick – where the famous Harry Potter movies were filmed, Warkworth, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Chillingham, country walks and quaint little Northumbrian Villages. Other attractions include the beautiful Victorian Cragside country house and gardens, and Wallington Hall. It’s a great base to explore the famous Northumberland Coast and Castle Run, and lovely little coastal destinations such as Cresswell, Amble, Alnmouth, Craster, Embleton, Newton by the sea, Beadnell, Seahouses....and also close to the Scottish borders is the gorgeous Berwick upon Tweed, Coldingham Bay and St. Abbs. There is a lovely traditional pub on your doorstep called The Cook and Barker Inn. The Inn boasts an excellent restaurant, bar areas and beer garden. There is also the charming village of Felton, a short drive away, which has quaint little pubs serving food and the well known Running Fox eatery serving delicious locally sourced produce, available to eat in or take away. Onsite there is also the complimentary use of the 18-hole golf course & a flood lit driving range for our guests. The site boasts gorgeous woodland to explore on foot or on bikes where you can run nature trails with the family, and have fun walks with the dogs. There are tennis courts, an adventure playground, laundrette, and there’s a clubhouse in nearby Swarland Village, offering food and drink, which is reached by a short walk through the woods.
