The Cartlodge - escape to the country!
* 100% 5 star 'Spotlessly Clean' rating * * Stylish, light and relaxing space* *Stunning gardens and orchard with firepit, bbq, hammock and seating* Your very own bolt hole in the country, the Cartlodge nestles in the grounds of a 16th Century Manor House in the peaceful village of Tacolneston, near the thriving, historical city of Norwich. The Cartlodge is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside of Norfolk, strolling round one of the nearby historical market towns or taking a trip into Norwich city, with it’s stunning castle, cobbled streets and cafes, coupled with the impressive Chapelfield and Castlemall shopping centres. Or simply use the time to relax outside the lodge on your patio with a glass of wine and a good book. Discover the beautifully maintained gardens and bountiful orchard, alive with the sound of birds, woodpeckers, muntjacs and pheasants on the lawn! The Cartlodge is very well equipped with a shower room and compact kitchen on the ground floor and a large open plan sleeping and living area on the first floor, with Freeview and Netflix TV and strong Wifi. Outside there is a patio, bbq and seating area overlooking the Manor gardens and to the rear is the secluded orchard with more seating and a fire pit for alfresco dining. Although not far from The Manor House, the Cart Lodge has a great sense of privacy and comfort. Guests are very welcome to use the orchard and front gardens, there are plenty of tables and chairs dotted around the grounds, feel free to move them to your favourite spot! There are some lovely walks from the property, across the fields or down village lanes, please ask if you are unsure where to start. I can be contacted any time during your stay by phone, text or just come and knock on the Manor door. I like to give our guests plenty of privacy but I am also very happy to answer any questions, advise on places to visit, the best pubs etc so please don’t hesitate to ask. Tacolneston is a village steeped in history, with many listed buildings, dating back over 500 years. There is a pub and a Chinese takeaway within walking distance, and several lovely country pubs serving delicious homemade food within a short drive. The village is a great base for rambling, with many footpaths across miles of stunning countryside starting outside your front door (There is an OSM in the lodge showing the routes). The coast is under an hours drive away, with some absolutely stunning beaches, fabulous in summer and ideal for wonderful winter walks! - The kitchen is well equipped with a small fridge/freezer, electric double hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, pots and pans etc. If there if anything else you need, just ask. Finding us! The Cartlodge is up a private gravel driveway off Norwich road, on the left coming from Norwich, there is a small sign at the driveway entrance saying ‘60-72’ (look for our neighbour’s larger sign saying ‘74’ and we are the next turning!) The gravel drive then forks, take the right hand fork and follow the signs for The Manor House (66) up on the left. Please park in the Manor House driveway and the Cartlodge will be just in front of you. Have a safe journey. Any problems please don’t hesitate to call me.
