Sea & Mountain alternatives in perfect combination. Volos town is just 12km, a 20 min drive. Volos is accessible through normal & charter flights from Vienna, London, Paris & Amsterdam. A beautiful artistic house, with amazing views. Charming ambience and feeling, with paintings, handmade objects, selected vintage materials, mannequin dolls, the piano ... and the owner is a seamstress ... This is why we were inspired to also call our home "El tiempo entre costuras" in Pelion (Pilion) LAYOUT Ground level: living and dining room, kitchen, wc, and a bedroom with 2 singles (can unite if needed). Upper level: 1 lovely bedroom with ensuite bathroom, 2 more bedrooms, one more bathroom. At the lower level / basement level there is a playroom with a ping-pong and a billiard table ! Guests have access to the entire property, terraces, playroom (with ping pong and billiard table) and its amenities. We will be in Pelion (Pilion) to welcome you and show you to the villa - we love to welcome our guests in person. We will be staying in the small guesthouse, 30m from the main house, and we will be as invisible as you wish :-) Even if we cannot make it to be in Pelion to welcome you, rest assured that we will be available via airbnb/email/phone/sms to make your arrival and stay as smooth as possible, while there will always be a local to help you out if there is a time of any need. Our house in located in Pelio (Pilio), close to the famous Portaria village. Mount Pelion (Pilion) is considered one of the MOST beautiful and ecologically pristine mountains Greece has to offer. According to the Greek Mythology, Mt. Pelion was the sanctuary for the Greek Gods during the summer months. Additionally, it was the homeland of the Centaurs, the mythical creatures best known for their half horse/half human shape, and the descendants of Centaurus, son of Apollo. What makes Pelion a unique tourist destination is due to its pristine combination of mountain and coastal activities waiting to be explored year-round! During the winter season, winter sport enthusiasts can enjoy their favorite sports such as ski, snowboard, horse back riding, and enjoy the unspoiled natural scenery of the native flora such as evergreens, chestnut trees, northern greek maples, as well as a number of endemic species that call Pelion their home. Summer offers an equal amount of activities for the sunbathing, hiking, mountain biking and horse back riding enthusiast. Volos town is just 12km, a 20 min drive from "ARTistic house @ PILIO". GROCERIES/FRESH FOOD & OTHER In Portaria there is a mini market where you can get groceries, fruit, milk, etc. For more extended shopping you might want to commute to Volos. BEACHES There are nice beaches at a distance of 30-40 min drive from ARTistic home. The beaches closer in distance to ARTistic house (roughly 25-30 min) are the ones on Pagasitikos Gulf. We recommend Kala Nera, Rivera at Kato Gazea and Afissos/Kalifteri. On the eastern side of Pilio, the side of the Aegean, especially recommended and not to miss - at least one of them - are the following beaches: Agioi Saranta, Mylopotamos, Ai Giannis - Papa Nero, Fakistra and Damouchari Six flights will be operated every week to and from Central Greece airport (N. Anchialos, just 35km, a 50 min drive from ARTistic home) from May 2016 and throughout the forthcoming summer season. Three of these flights are regular and other charter, according to the pre-announcements made. Regular flights will operate every Tuesday from end of May and the airline «Fly Niki» from Volos to Vienna and vice versa. Also the airline «Austrian» has chosen Central Greece airport with flights from the end of May every Saturday and also to and from Vienna. Of the remaining three charter flights one will be with the company «Germania», every Friday from London. The second will be with the company «Transavia», every Friday from the end of April from Amsterdam, while the third charter flight will be with the company «Club Med», every Saturday from Paris ! You could also take a plane and fly either to Athens, Thessaloniki or Skiathos airports. Skiathos island is an hour away from Volos by Flying Dolphin. Volos is just 12km, a 20 min drive from "ARTistic house @ PILIO". Staying in Pilion can be easily combined with vacations in one of the Sporades islands.
