Brancaster Bakery Cottage, luxury Norfolk hideaway
Brancaster Bakery Cottage is a newly refurbished, self contained, 1-bed flint and chalk cottage adjoining The Old Bakery in the heart of Brancaster village. (Sorry, we do not accommodate dogs.) Guests have off street parking and use of large attractive gardens. It is only 2 minutes walk from The Ship Hotel, which serves lunch and dinner. The spectacular Brancaster Beach with its miles of golden sands is an easy walk along the Marsh Path. No service fee. Brancaster Bakery Cottage (reputedly the flour store for the bakery in its day) has a fully fitted kitchen with new AEG dishwasher, washer-drier, oven, hob, Bosch Fridge and Nespresso coffee machine. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, heated towel rail and illuminated mirror with shaver socket. The luxurious bedroom has a king-sized White Company bed and super-comfy mattress, with Egyptian cotton Designers' Guild bedding. The living room has modern sofa and easy chair, dining table, coffee table and flat screen smart TV. Guests have their own outside sitting area with table and chairs. Or guests can make use of seating in the extensive garden. Tea and cake will be offered on arrival. Guests have the cottage for their exclusive use and can use the garden and outside seating areas. The hosts, Nic and Caroline live in the Old Bakery adjoining the cottage and will be happy to help with anything during your stay Brancaster is a jewel set in North Norfolk's coast. It has a beautiful local beach with miles of wide sand and open skies. The historic Royal West Norfolk Golf Club is here and in the local villages you will find sailing at Brancaster Staite, shopping in Burnham Market and all the other attractions of North Norfolk. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Titchwell is just down the road. Bring your binoculars! Nature lovers will find much to see, and the famous Norfolk skies give superb star-gazing. The area is exceptionally well provided with excellent pubs and restaurants, so you will always find fabulous food and drink if you don't want to self-cater. It is truly a foodies paradise. When in season the famous Brancaster mussels are a plumptious treat. Other fish are also caught locally. The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe has it's own smokehouse and Gurney's fish shop has two outlets. Drove Orchards and the Thornham Deli are just down the road if you do need provisions for picnic lunches or supplies to cook dinner. There are many excellent local walks through the countryside and along the coastal path. The coastal bus takes you east to Cromer and west to King's Lynn, stopping at all points in between. An excellent way of getting out or back from a pub lunch if walking does not appeal. Driving along the country roads gives terrific views of the countryside and coast, but don't expect motorway speeds! Brancaster Staithe and The White Horse or The Jolly Sailors are just down the road.
