.Creek and lake are about 1/2 mile away. The house is 22 miles from Sedona. It is uncrowded, unpolluted, and tranquil. The room has a private bathroom with double sink/showers, a ,mini-fridge, microwave , and coffee maker. There is wifi and smart tv. Cell service here is erratic. Usually, if service is weak, using outside is workable. Wifi is usually strong . If you cannot abide by my cancellation policy, which is moderate, please do not book. The house itself is full of arts and folk crafts from around the world. The style is eclectic and joyful, with a Southwestern accent fused with international folk art. The queen mattress is a memory foam with a 3 inch soft topper for a wonderful night of sleep and has an electric blanket for cool nights. It is a joy to wake and see the warm milled log ceiling in the early light: you can make breakfast in your room, or the back deck. We provide complimentary organic coffee and tea, which you can make in your room. In addition to a charming guest room with amenities, my co-host Athena is a professional healer who can provide many services, if you request: Athena’s work is focused on trauma healing, loss and grief and relationship challenges. Her approach to mental health is holistic. She has the equivalent of a Master’s in Psychology and she’s a published author. In addition to that, she studied ancient and modern methods to find resolution of trauma-based issues. Her training allows her to draw in elements from psychotherapy (especially from psychoanalysis, which is her favorite school of thought) mindfulness, and blend them with esoteric methods. Her main tools, based on the the beneficial results that she has seen with her clients are: inner child work, family constellations, NLP, emotional literacy techniques, fundamental quantum field elements, and more. Because of that, her main concern is to find and resolve the root cause of her clients’ difficulties, whether they are manifesting as troubled relationships, losses, anxiety, grief and so forth. Her goal is that they can move forward with their lives and can experience an actual change in their lives. Guest room, rear deck, and yard. I can stay out of the way or be as helpful and friendly as you wish. It's up to you. We value our privacy and respect yours. We will be able to provide information to attractions in the area and other info if you want it. In addition, my co-host offers professional healing services at your request. Athena is a visionary and an author. She holds a Master’s in Psychology and has studied some of the most powerful ancient and modern alternative holistic methodologies of healing. Her training allows her to draw in elements from psychotherapy and blend them with esoteric methods of healing and self-development. Her philosophy and practices bridge science and spirituality to support an actual change in their clients’ lives Her work is dedicated to freeing people from emotional, mental and physical suffering. Lake Montezuma is a clean, virtually crime-free neighborhood of ancient trees and well-kept homes.. There are virtually no commercial businesses and thus hardly any traffic and so the air is pure and it is peaceful and quiet. The neighborhood is built around a huge circular abandoned golf course which has become a field of wildflowers in the spring and provides privacy and open views. Beaver Creek is a rich riparian corridor full of lush growth and abundant wildlife, including migratory birds The clouds, sunrises, and sunsets are incredible! Here you can have the tranquillity of the end of the road and at the same time be at the center of a variety of world-class natural and cultural wonders. You can hike or bike or use your car to explore the area or take day trips to Grand Canyon, the red rocks of Sedona the historic mining town of Jerome, Old Town Cottonwood with amazing shopping, and visit ancient native ruins and petroglyphs on scenic back roads. Montezuma Well is 4 miles away and free and incredible! This is an ideal location from which to explore this area of Arizona that has supported life for 10,000 years and is renowned for its natural beauty, hiking trails, and healing properties. An ideal place to come relax, rejuvenate, recenter, and renew yourself. With a few miles are 5 restaurants, a healing center, several antique and thrift stores, a lake, a creek, the incredible Montezuma Well, and many wild animals that make this area their home. Since cell service is not always reliable (Verizon works most of the time), if you can't get good reception indoors, it usually works in the yard... just drive half a mile back down the road to a higher level and the reception will come through. Usually, I have trouble in the house but it works when I just go outside. My home is about 1/3 of a mile from Beaver Creek, half a mile from Lake Montezuma and less than 2 miles from Sycamore Park, with Montezuma Well 4 miles away (and free), the Cliff Casino 8 miles away, Montezuma's Castle 9 miles, the Red Rocks 12 miles , downtown Sedona 22 miles, petroglyphs 10 miles, and the Grand Canyon is a day trip. Tuzigoot ruins and Jerome are less than an hour away on lovely country roads. I will supply any dishes, utensils,, etc you might need to make your visit enjoyable. Your room has travel guides to Arizona, many Arizona highway magazines, and other books about the area, including hiking trails. The area has been inhabited going back over 10,000 years. People have been gravitating to Sedona since 8,000 B.C. Some of the migrant tribes that crossed the Bering Strait from Asia eventually made their way to Sedona. These “Paleo Indian” tribes roamed in bands along the tributaries of Dry Creek, Beaver Creek, and Oak Creek, gathering wild plant food.." Lake Montezuma, which is bordered by wild Beaver Creek, was farmed by native Americans due to its rich soil; it has an abundance of wild life, large birds, coyotes, ,javaliina, deer, etc and the evening is filled with their voices, the mornings with birdsong. Lake Montezuma, tho at the end of the road, is in the center of exciting and historic destinations, from the Out of Africa Wildlife Park to the ancient ruins to the wonders of Sedona, which is 222 miles away through beautiful back roads, to the Grand Canyon, a few hours away.
