Situated on a quiet road in an elevated position with beautiful, sweeping views over parkland to the hills beyond. There is free parking either on the road or on the driveway at the property. The double room is adjacent to private shower/toilet and guests have access to ground floor shared living room. We are 2 mins walk from the High St shops, museum, restaurants and pubs. There is an hourly bus service to Edinburgh or Peebles (45 mins to Edinburgh by car). The bedroom is spacious and very quiet as it backs on to the rolling countryside. This is a relaxing and comforting space with beautiful period features and high ceilings. The private shower room with toilet is adjacent to the bedroom and for the exclusive use of guests. Guests can access shared front living room. This is a relaxing area to read or chat and enjoy the views from the property. I live within the home so I will be available to answer any queries you may have and to provide useful information on places to visit, upcoming events locally, nearby walks and recommend places for dining and for entertainment. Biggar is a small but unique Scottish village in so many ways . It is lively and friendly and very welcoming to visitors. It offers a range of attractions. There are numerous festivals that take place throughout the year such as the Biggar Little festival during October, the famous Biggar Bonfire at New Year that attracts worldwide attention and regular "meet the writer" events hosted by our local prize-winning bookshop. The countryside in this part of Scotland is ideal for keen hill walkers with Tinto Hill about 5 miles distant and is the highest point in Central Scotland. The 360 views from the top are spectacular. Other nearby attractions include the beautiful Dawyck Gardens and Little Sparta. Biggar's pubs and restaurants give the visitor a warm Scottish welcome. Local bus stops are 2 mins walk away in the High Street. There's an hourly service to Edinburgh and more frequent services to Peebles in the Borders and Lanark (12 miles away) which provides train services to Glasgow city centre. Biggar provides an excellent base for visitors to attend events at the Edinburgh Festival in the summer months. Those with a car can reach the city centre of Edinburgh in around 50 mins. In the summer months with warmer weather you can sit at the bistrot table and chairs situated at the front of the property and enjoy the wonderful setting while you have breakfast. There is also a large garden to the rear of the property with chairs and recliners where you can relax .
