Cozy Cottage in Downeast Maine

Come and enjoy this cute cottage in Down East Maine. You are right in the thick of all that coastal Maine has to offer, yet tucked away in a little sea side village. The cottage is across the street from the sea-so the ocean views are a 1 minute walk away. You can check out the original one room school house, hike in Ingersol Point Preserve, and walk to the local wharf. We are pet friendly! There are no extra fees for pets-just make sure to clean up after them. The cottage is gorgeous-the original space is one large room with kitchen, dining area and a seating area-with a loft accessible by ladder. There is also an additional bedroom and sitting room with television as well as a small bathroom and a small laundry room. There is no dryer-we have a clothesline outback. The cottage has all the amenities you will need for cooking, cocktails, and hosting several people. We have the basics like butter, olive oil, spices, cereal-and also coffee grinder and coffee maker. There is a liquor store and grocery store about 15 minutes away. We have an indoor wood stove that you can use for heat if you know know how’s run one of these. There is also oil heat for colder nights. There is a little fire pit outside that you can roast marshmallows in-just make sure to never leave unattended and put out with garden hose when finished-the winds are surprisingly strong. Even though you are coming in warmer months, it usually gets cold at night. Make sure to bring some warm clothes too. The entire space is yours while you are there. We live off site 3 hours away. Texting is my best way to communicate. The village was established in the late 1700's and was a bustling sea port. It is pretty low key now-the cottage is located on the main street surrounded by other houses and cottages. There are year round residents and summer residents as well as vacationers. People are super friendly and everyone will wave at you when they drive by. Check out a map of the area and you will see all kinds of possibilities-Acadia, Machias, Great Wass Islands, Roques Bluff, Campobello Island. For a place that feels like you are on the edge of the world-it is surprisingly chock full of adventures and day trips. The cottage is across the street from the ocean-there is a little sea shell path right to the water.
