History The Quiet Woman Public House is a Grade 11 Listed building which was built in the late 19th Century. The pub sign depicts a headless woman and the story is told that she was a nagging wife and this is how she was quietened! The Quiet Woman Apartment is new on the market and we appreciate that a few changes are ongoing. Please give us feedback where possible to help us make these changes. The beautiful market town of Leek, known as the Queen of the Moorlands is exactly that! Nestled in a valley with the Roaches as a background means the Peak District is easily accessible. Spend the day rambling with your dog and then relax back at the apartment together. Alternatively Leek has many eateries, pubs, cafes, antique and boutique shops and provides a vibrant and welcoming stay. Leek is also the perfect place to stay after a trip to Alton Towers, Peak Wildlife centre, Tittesworth, or take your pick of Pottery museums located in Stoke on Trent - World of Wedgwood, Gladstone, Spode, visit Trentham gardens and monkey forest, the list goes on! Just at the top of St Edwards street is Brough Park, a lovely park which can be enjoyed with children and animals. Closely located to four main wedding venues: Heaton House The Ashes Three Horseshoes Foxtails Barns All only a 10-15 minute drive away. Our accommodation is perfect for pre or post wedding get togethers. The Quiet Woman Apartment is situated near the town centre so the majority of Leek can be accessed by walking. The number 18 bus travels between Leek and Stoke on Trent. For access to the Peak District a car is preferable. Parking is available on St Edwards street for half an hour for unloading if arriving between 8-6pm, if arriving outside of those hours cars can be left overnight. However long stay parking is available close to the Quiet Woman Apartment. One at the top of St Edwards Street on the right, one by turning left partway up St Edward street (opposite Dominoes) and one by heading down St. Edwards St, turning left a the traffic lights and then next left. All within walking distance. We recommend parking on St. Edwards street to unload and then parking in a long stay car park. Prices start from £1.00. Dog friendly
