'Get Away From It All' in adorable 'off-grid' rustic log cabin hideaway in sheep meadows, behind the town. Romantic nature lovers only, isolated, private! ADULTS ONLY! ** PLEASE BRING ALL BEDDING (double sheet, duvet, pillows, towels) **Cabin has wood burning stove, double bed, gas cooker, fresh water & solar lighting. No electricity or wifi. Shared woodland toilet/shower in woods (2 min) & public toilets/paid shower (5 mins). Local shops, cafe, 4 pubs etc (5 mins). 2 night minimum stay! 'Get back to nature' in our large handmade, unique and rustic Secret Dutch barn in the sheep marshes/woods in a nature reserve on our small farm in the villages of Loddon/Chedgrave. Bohemian, quirky hut - will suit environmentalists and those wanting to be out with and relating to nature. 3 minute walk from the car parking area. Hand built, sleeps 2 adults only, private. Please note: We also have 2 cabins in the woods and a shepherds hut on our 15 acre farm to rent. There is space up in the woods for 3 other tent camps so you will not be exclusively staying on our farm. Please do keep noise to a minimum. The woods are located in a valley on the edge of Loddon so there may be occasional sounds from traffic and houses. Do please be mindful of other campers and associated properties. The only facilities you will share are the toilet and woodland shower. The Dutch barn is in its own private meadow. If you would like friends to camp in tents near your barn, please send us a message. We are not a commercial campsite but a rural privately, owned farm. We invite you as our friends to come and stay with us on our farm. Please respect our neighbours and other guests staying in the woods. TO BRING: 1) PLEASE BRING ALL BEDDING (double sheet for bed, duvet, pillows, towels), for hygiene reasons 2) Bring torches and decent shoes/wellies! 3) Bring mobile car charger to charge your mobile. The Dutch Barn is made of wood, thoroughly insulated and finished to a great but rustic standard. Sleeps 2 with a comfortable iron double bedstead (with plenty of storage underneath). Internal log burning small stove and a single gas stove for quick boiling and simple cooking. The cabin is warm, dry, cosy and very comfortable whatever the weather! You won't want to leave! No electricity, therefore no fridge and no wifi in hut - but wifi is available near house. Solar lighting of 6 lights is provided and the wood stove provides heating and simple cooking. Kitchen washup/food preparation area and seating with views across the marsh. Fresh tap water nearby. Equipped with many cooking utensils, pots & pans but if you are short of anything, do please just ask us. Antique vanity bowl and jug for personal washing with mirror inside the barn. Shared woodland flushing toilet and gas powered woodland shower are provided in the woods (2mins walk away) and public toilet & shower (5 mins) away at the staithe. Map provided on arrival. Outside the hut there is a seating area and a table for two with a BBQ for summer use. *** VERY IMPORTANT: No outside ground campfires allowed - sorry. PLEASE NOTE: ABSOLUTELY NO SHOES ALLOWED INSIDE THE BARN! Please respect this rule, as the fields do have sheep droppings in them. ** No electricity (Solar lighting) **No modern heating (but wood burning stove with plenty of wood provided and more available to purchase in our local shop for £5.00 per bag) **No mobile signal or wifi but you can pick up wifi at the house. Please come and ask us for the code. **No mod cons - this is a hut in the middle of a sheep field - glorified camping! Please close all gates. ** 3 minutes walk from the car parking area, up a sometimes muddy track. ** No open naked candles/flames allowed in barn. *** There are low heights to some entrances in hut. Some ducking and dipping may be required; please do be careful of your head! ***Please respect neighbours and other visitors and keep noise to a minimum PARKING: There is no vehicular access to the meadows, but parking is available behind our property or when busy there is a public car park (free on Sundays) opposite our property and there is also additional 'on street' parking. Canoes & bikes - there are miles of river and country lanes to explore, so do bring. PETS: For the benefit of all our guests, the well being of our sheep and the well being of this cabin, we do NOT allow dogs to stay. WASHING: Use our washing machine in the house (for a small charge £5 per load/dry). PLEASE NOTE: YOU STAY ON OUR PROPERTY AT YOUR OWN RISK. BY BOOKING THIS ACCOMMODATION YOU AGREE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY & LIABILITY FOR ANY ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOURSELF, ANY OF YOUR PARTY OR YOUR POSSESSIONS BY ACCIDENT OR WEATHER You are free to access all of the woods with pathways and fields. Please come and go as you please, respecting the gates and animals. We are normally around in the house and able to offer help or provide any information that you may need. We know the area well and are involved in lots of local activities in the area, so pride ourselves on having great relations and knowledge of the local community. We're very laid back, friendly people and I'm sure we will all get along well! Loddon (and the adjoining village of Chedgrave) is a lovely and traditional Norfolk village with historic buildings and sits on the River Chet with boating moorings and access to the entire Norfolk Broads network. You can be virtually self sufficient in Loddon, as we boast numerous cafes, pubs, local shops and supermarket. We are also part of the National cycleway and boast some fantastic river walks, especially to the bird sanctuary at Hardley flood (15 minutes walk away). Loddon is halfway between Norwich and Beccles, off the A146 and there is a regular bus service. Trains are located in Norwich and Beccles. The cabin is a 5 minutes 'easy' walk from the town centre. We just ask that you respect our environment and respect our neighbours (people live nearby), close gates and tidy up after you and keep a close watch on your dog/kids near the animals and river!
