Situated in the village of Kempsford, a short drive from Cirencester, the centre of the Cotswolds, this charming barn conversion has been tastefully fitted throughout with a modern twist whilst respecting the traditional features. It is positioned on a private close which is ideal for an enjoyable week or weekend away to spend in the countryside. The splendid barn features large vaulted ceilings, a vast lounge equipped with a wood-burning stove for cosy nights in and plenty of space throughout. The barn consists of 3 double bedrooms, (one with a King size Bed) and a 4th single bedroom with bunk beds for fun with the kids, sleeping 8 in total. The master bedroom comes equipped with a spacious en-suite bathroom, with double walk-in shower and his and her sinks. The main bathroom features a standalone roll-top bath to relax of an evening with views of the sky through the skylight above. Furthermore, it comes with a utility/boot room, for storing coats and boots after walks in the Cotswold’s rolling hills as well as a washing machine, should it be needed. The barn has a separate Games Room with a separate Smart TV to the lounge which is also equipped with a PlayStation 4 and a good selection of games. The Games Room has views over the garden which is ideal for the kids to play or watch something different to the adults. Complimentary WiFi is provided together with Amazon TV in the Lounge and NowTV to support Smart TV Apps such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and Amazon Prime, to suit, for family entertainment in the evenings. Outside, it features a picnic table and chimenea set in the garden and a separate secluded decked area with BBQ to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening as the sun goes down. There is a gated private driveway for parking 2 cars and more on the road opposite, as needed. Finally, due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra steps to clean and sanitise frequently touched surfaces between reservations. We are available by phone or text throughout your stay, so please message or call should you have any questions or queries. Kempsford is a village in Gloucestershire, England, about 2.5 miles south of Fairford. RAF Fairford is located near the village, ideal for short walks around the airfield and especially well positioned for the Royal International Air Tattoo held here annually in July. Based in the Cotswolds, it’s easy to reach from all aspects of the country. Head out and wander through the nearby farmers’ market and pick up local ingredients to later craft a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. Kempsford itself has a fantastic local pub, The George , 3 minutes walk from the barn which serves quality local beer and food and gives an opportunity to mix with the friendly locals. The nearest shops for top-up groceries are in Fairford, less than 10 minutes away which has a Co-Op and a butchers, as well as fish & chips and a takeaway. The traditional Cotswold Villages of Fairford, Lechlade-on-Thames, which sits in an Area of Natural Beauty and Ampney Crucis nearby, are all within easy reach and host excellent eateries for lunch or dinner alike as well as many walking routes. There is also an opportunity to go fishing in Whelford, just down the road from Kempsford. Kempsford is a beautiful Cotswold village and is well located for getting to both the M4 and M5 motorways. The nearest mainline train station is Swindon which is a 20 minute drive from the Barn and has paid parking. The journey takes an hour to London as well as services to Bristol, Bath and Cardiff. There are also train services from Swindon to Cheltenham and onward to Birmingham and further North. There is a National Express Coach service from Cirencester to London as well as other useful routes. The local taxi firm is Smart Taxi, Cirencester. There is also the Cotswolds Airport in Kemble and the main large airport is Bristol, which is an hour's drive from the Barn. Please note - for the wood burning stove, sufficient kindling and logs are provided for the first night or so (depending on usage). Further logs can be purchased in the surrounding area as detailed in the guide book.
